#570 of 578 lease termination/transfer questions
Jun 28, 2013 (11:57 am)
I currently rolled into a new Subaru. Love the car, unfortunately my job may be sending me overseas for an indefinite amount of time. I called Chase Auto Finance and they told me I could not transfer the lease to a different person (my sister has expressed interest in picking up the payments, and yes, she's my sister and I trust her but I'm also curious about this next part...read on). The rep then told me I could walk into ANY dealership (Honda, Chevrolet, whatever) and they could buy the lease out. Is this true? Can they actually do that? Obviously, I'm guessing the dealership would flip the car and I'd be left with some $ difference that I'd have to pay off.
My next question is...is this a smart move? Compared to straight up ending the lease early and eating the early termination fees (does anyone know what these fees are or do they fluctuate based on how long the car has been leased for?) Do I have any other options? Thanks for your help.

Hi I'm looking for money factor and residual on 2013 impreza wagon, limited trim, with moonroof
36 month lease with 12K miles per year

Got my lease for the following:
Money factor 0.0010
12k miles per year
Impreza hatch limited with moonroof
Msrp $24,847 with popular package
Sale price $21,500
Bank fee $595
I got the sale price from the Internet salesperson. When I went in they claimed he had made a mistake and based the sale price off the car with no moonroof. I left the dealership and told them they misled me and I couldn't trust them.
5 minutes after I left they called me and said they would honor the price and would take up the "mistake" with the Internet department

Hey Car Guy,
Will you please let me know the Subaru Finance money factor and residual for a 2013 Impreza Sport Premium with CVT? This is for 36 months, 12,000 miles per year. Also, is the manufacturer providing any lease cash? Thanks.
#574 of 578 August lease for Impreza Sport Premium

Hi Car Man!
I was wondering about the Chase Subaru money factor and residual for the 2013 Impreza Sport Premium w CVT. 36-months, 12k per year. There were conflicting #'s given by two local dealers...I am in Nassau County, New York. I contacted Chase, but they advised that the information could only be disclosed by the dealerships.
Also, any incentives or hold backs? Both dealers said no, but just making sure.
Thanks for all that you do!

Well, here's mine - just did the deal.
2014 XV CrossTrek Limited
Popular Package 1
+ Home Link mirror added
MSRP of 28051 + whatever the mirror was (couple hundred)
Offered price: (I actually offered $26,500, and this is what they came back with)
$43.91 Sales use tax
$100 title, license, reg
$595 Acquisition Fee
$560.75 Doc Fee
$2 MVWEA (whatever that is)
$66.50 Tire Battery Fee
$27,307.41 Gross Capitalized Cost
15k lease/36 months
Zero out of pocket - sign and drive
Dealer makes first payment of $382.61
I'm making 35 more payments of $382.61
$13,391.35 total payments
I feel pretty good with the deal. How'd I do?
Also - shout out to Subaru of Jacksonville (Florida), who rocks. This is my 3rd Subaru from them, and the experience was incredibly easy and we did it all via emails and phone. No games. Very nice people. Also to Subaru of Orange Park (fairly new competitor and in Jacksonville as well) for helping me get the first month free.
