thx for the opinion elgatoloco.

By "engine sound" I mean that I really hear the engine when I press on the gas. My other cars are a Lexus ES and Acura MDX, which insulate you fron the engine "vroom".

I asked the Mitsu salesman about the engine sound and he replied, hey - its a sports car, thats how they are made.

What I am asking is - does the constant engine sound get on your nerves on a long ride - or do you just get used to the experience?

I Definitely agree that the BMW needs to be certified to keep maint costs down vs Spyder and my 2 boys love the Spyder looks.
Thanks again

Yeah.. I thought that was probably what you were talking about, sounds like the salesman was pretty honest too.

My sister has only had her eclipse GT (her 4th Mitsubishi) for a short time but has already made 2 trips to Florida from central Illinois. She has a kind of gonzo driving habit in that she drives straight through with an always full mug of juice or coffee. She says she likes to hear the throb of the 3.8, makes her feel safe. If she needs a change she just cranks the radio up a bit. Incidentally, she has checked her mileage out pretty good & claims better MPG when using premium. She says she averages 75-80 on the interstate & gets about 27 MPG. Much better than her previous Diamante.

#34 of 75 Steal by 2007eclipse

I have to say I got an absolute steal on my automatic 07 GS Eclipse in Sunset Pearl but it really came at a price and my time. I got the car with 2 miles and it cost me, are you ready??? $16,400.

The dealership was having a killer sale which of course no one qualifies for and I happened to qualify for all of it, which in total was about $4500 off. They tried killing the deal several times b/c they were losing money. But I persevered and got the car. It was an absolute nightmare going through them because of the General Manager lied through his teeth, insulted me, even tried bait & switch, and then said he wouldn't sell the car to me b/c of my trade. They had a deal going on that they would give you $2,000 for any car you could drive, pull, or push in. So I knew a guy who was selling his car for $200, so naturally I got that car to trade in instead of my 99 eclipse which was worth more than $2k. They obviously didn't want to stand behind there ad, but b/c it was in the paper/radio they were really forced to. I spent a week of my life doing everything in my power to get the car, and they spent a week of there life doing everything to not sell me the car.

As a final note, The other Mitsubishi dealership by my house is great to work with, so I am not saying all Mitsubishi dealerships are like that. It was honestly just the General Manager at the dealership I went through that made my car buying experience such a nightmare. Plus when is car buying ever easy

That's funny. You got yours at Lonestar Mitsubishi in San Antonio. I got mine there too. Drove all the way from Austin. I got it the end of March for 16500 in black incl. Sunroof. They were super nice and gave me great interest. Took a little negotiation but Highly Recommended
