For my radar detector, I found some plastic wire clips at Menards. I inserted one on the right side of the plastic screen covering the speedometer then ran the wire down to the side of the floor console and stuck a clip into the seam on the console. then ran the wire along the side and up into the console. I want to get a portable GPS and do the same.

Hello rparis - Thanks for your post. I have owned many RX350's. The 2010 that I bought now has 900 miles on it. I am ready to junk it. The wishbone suspension in the rear has made the car drive like a truck. The ride is horrible, the HVAC buttons on the dash are so small you can hardly see which one's to push. the car, in my opinion is an overpriced cheap disaster compared to earlier models. Hope this helps you in some way. Also see my posts on reflections (a safety factor) on the new RX350. Geez I hate the car!
#473 of 521 Michelin tires now noisy in my RX350 after less than a year

Hi, Guys. I purchased new tires for my '07 RX350 last June, and now, all of a sudden, the tires are getting kind of noisy. They are the Michelins that Lexus recommends for this vehicle, although I purchased them through Tire Rack, and they were put on the vehicle at a Tire Kingdom. I was wondering if anyone with the Michelins has had the sudden noisiness after less than a year of ownership of these tires??

I had the LTX model for almost 50K w/out any issues on my RX300.

I have been reading all the reviews in Edmonds about the 2010 RX 350 and in general it gets only an 8.2 rating (not low but not what a Lexus should be). When reading all the reviews (abou 102 of then) it makes me wonder if people that buy Lexus expects such high quality that anything below is practcally classified as garbage..some of them are owners of previous RX 350 and they really tear apart the 2010 model or the low ratings are truly due to the poor quality and not just a perception.
I am contemplating buying one but after reading those reviews I wonder if I should.
Do any prospective buyers out there feel the same?...are my fears unfounded since we hear from unhappy customers and not really from the happy ones?....are RX 350 sales soft because of public negative reactions?...is that why in some places you can get about $5k off MSRP?.....thanks for sharing any opinions..

I have owned a 2004, 2006, and a 2010 rx. I loved all three cars
Problems:
04 and 06: transmission not as smooth as 10
10: engine noise when engine is cold, placement of 12 volt outlet.

Hi, SVOfan2. Yes, for those of us who have had the pleasure of driving the previous gen. RX, specifically, the 2007 to 2009 RX350's, I believe we became really "spoiled" with these vehicles.
For me, those models offered a lot of nice options at a lower price point than the 2010. Now, you have to get a navigation and comfort package at a price increase of 4 to $5,000 more than what I paid for my RX to get back some of the options that I already have. Granted, there are some new things in the 2010 that are very nice, such as the push button start, keyless entry,
heated and ventilated seats, and even a back-up camera in the premium only model. But my premium only model in the '07 has rain-sensing wipers, illuminated kickplates(which look very nice, by the way!), which you can only get those if you go all the way up to the Luxury package now! My model RX has easy access to the two power plugs as opposed to the difficult-to-access power plugs that are buried deep in the console of the 2010 RX.
Also, my '07 RX has a full-size spare tire, the 2010 does not. Of course, the 2010 does have the iPod aux. ports and such, which I would really like to have right about now. As a consolation, I do have XM Radio in my '07 RX.
I just don't feel that Lexus went quite far enough in really changing the 2010 RX mostly on the interior details. I actually like the exterior a little better than my '07. I was hoping to see things such as a panoramic sunroof, split dual exhaust tips like the rest of the Lexus line-up now has, I think, with the exception of the GX470 and the LX.
Finally, I got to spend a few days in a loaner 2010 RX, and after driving the 2010 and getting back into my '07, I found that at idle the '07 is quieter. I don't even like the exhaust note on the 2010 all that much. It sounds like maybe Lexus tried too hard with trying to make it sound sportier?? I don't know. I will say that the 2010 felt even more responsive than my '07, and my RX is zippy already. I think the tranny is probably smoother shifting just like the above poster stated. Oh, and let's not forget the 400 pound weight gain, and I doubt that the 2010 RX will get as good of gas mileage as the previous gen RX.
Incidentally, my stepdad just purchased a 2010 RX even after I pointed out to him what I thought were its shortcomings. He says he decided to get it because of my positive experience and after riding in my RX a couple of times. He loves his 2010 RX.
I think if you've never owned or driven a previous gen RX, you will probably appreciate what the 2010 offers. It's still a nice car, just not quite what I was hoping for. Again, Lexus spoiled me with the previous gen RX.
I really never thought I'd say this, but the 2010 Cadillac SRX has jumped ahead of the 2010 RX350 for me right now on my list.
I will know better when I test drive the SRX, which I probably won't do for another couple of months.
Sorry for such a long post, but I've got to say I have had some very mixed emotions about the new RX. Time will tell if it will live up to the expectations of previous Lexus owners.

I had a 99 RX300 and presently a 2007 RX350, both front wheel drive, superb vehicles; no significant complaints whatever. I have most routine service done at a Toyota shop, same parts and expertise at about half the price; but no gourmet breakfast or quick-and-dirty car wash.

Thank you for your observations, to tell the truth is one of the best crtiques that I have seen, do you think that all those "points" are the reason why the deep discounts of course depending where in the country?.....My wife and I really like the 10 RX350 over the Acura MDX, but I do still have reservations that after spending high bucks we will discover engine noise etc which I would tolerate a bit better on a cheaper car..again thanks a lot for sahring the expiriences..
