I always thought thought that my lovely state of Florida was the only state which prohibited that. Besides hurricanes, crooked politicians, old folks that can't read a ballot & ridiculous property taxes, we also can't buy extended warranties online from out of state dealers. Crazy state with lunatics in office making stupid legislation, what more could one ask for! The Sandman

Replying to: bobw3 (Oct 26, 2007 5:41 am) There is sales tax in FL. 6% on the total price (state sales tax) plus an additional x% for the first $5000 (county sales tax). So an example (For $17K): Orange County: .5% + 6%; (5K*6.5)+(12K*6) = 325 + 750 = 1075 Seminole County: 1% + 6%; (5K*7)+(12K*6) = 350 + 750 = 1100 Later, -d |

I'd like to suggest a format for posting your Price Paid. This is helpful since the dealers tack on fees and fees vary from dealer to dealer. A dealer may give $200 off MSRP lower the price but then add on $200 for "other fees".... Description: MSRP: Invoice: Add-Ons: Cost + Description Tag Fee: Tax Fee: Dealer/Document Fees: Other Fees: -------- OTD What does everyone think? -d |

It's been a while since I posted last and I've been through a couple of cars since then. I'll use the requested format since it seems to make good sense. Description:2008 Silver Fit Sport 5 speed MSRP: $15,601 Invoice: Add-Ons: Wheel locks-Free Tag Fee: Tax Fee: Dealer/Document Fees: $299 Other Fees: None Here in Oklahoma we pay Tag, Title and Tax after we get a copy of the title and that takes about 2 weeks but I am guessing something in the $600 range for the lot. I think it was a decent price. I bought it from Steve Bailey Honda here in Oklahoma City and have bought an Accord from them in 2005. The experience has always been good and I appreciate the quick service in the service department. I will need to buy an arm rest, dead pedal and floor mats to make this car right. The lack of the arm rest is just plain stupid and the person who said that they should only give arm rests to the JDM market should be beaten with a stick. Take care Phil

Replying to: commofficer (Oct 29, 2007 6:00 pm) Does the MSRP include Destination Charge? The number is odd compard to Edmunds' (includes Destination Charge): Sport Manual $15,905 Sport Auto $16,705 Base Auto $15,385 Wheel Locks for $54. None of the numbers match $15,601 -- were there other accessories included in the MSRP pricing? Interesting about the Dealer/Document fee, Courtesy Honda charges $600. Way too much. Thanks, -d

Replying to: danlong (Oct 30, 2007 5:51 am) MSRP= $15,601 Cash Price= $15,601 Processing Fee= $299 All I wrote my check for was $15,900. I guess that shows you what they can do with their prices if they really want to sell the car. They said that they don't sell many of the 5-speed Fit Sports so maybe that was it but they don't have many on the lot so they are selling. $600 is really BS. Do you have a choice of your local dealers? We have 3 Honda dealers in the OKC metro area so that helps keep stuff like that from happening. Good luck Phil
