But if one trades in one when buying, the sales tax difference is subtracted which results in a lower sales tax. That's why sometimes it's just better to trade then sell privately.   The Sandman

Why on earth would CA do that??   Or maybe they didn't do it... from reading posts in other discussions in Town Hall re Honda extended warranties, it appears that for HondaCare warranties at least, you can buy them from any dealer, even if you live in CA.

I always thought thought that my lovely state of Florida was the only state which prohibited that. Besides hurricanes, crooked politicians, old folks that can't read a ballot & ridiculous property taxes, we also can't buy extended warranties online from out of state dealers.
