Fog light adjustment by bayoujay

Had an accident a while back and had the front end/bumper replaced. Since then I've noticed that the angle of the foglights is lower than before. Can anyone tell me how to adjust the angle of the foglights myself or point me to a resource? Thanks!!

If you had the work done at a body shop, you should still be under their warranty. I'd take it back to them first.

front seats in 2008 Fit by stevemr1

I love my 2008 Fit Sport Manual but have one major issue. The front seats are fine for local commuting but on long drives of over an hour, the seat bottoms are too firm, and the lack of height adjustment make for a very sore bottom. Has anyone found a padded seat cover or a seat cushion that helps on long drives and is a nice fit?

I hated the seats. I have an 07. I tried three or four different cushions. I found one that works great, finally. It is Obusforme. I bought the lower seat and later bought the back support. I drive hundreds of miles a week and it works.

I ordered my '09 Fit Sport eight months before they arrived in the States so I literally got one of the first ones off the boat and I've accumulated almost 8000 miles to date. I feel compelled to throw my two cents into the dicussions on ride comfort when I read posts of people complaining about it, especially comparing it to mid and sometimes even full size cars.

I can't be the only person who realizes this is a SUB-compact car; not a compact, crossover etc. so I guess my question to the masses that I'd like some feedback on is, what exactly did people think a car this size would feel like going down the road; a Cadillac?

It's a common sense issue for me because the general rule of thumb is: The smaller the car, the rougher the ride typically is but mabye someone can give me a different perspective on the reasoning behind trashing the ride of the Fit because I have trouble understanding what people thought the ride of a sub-compact would feel like when they got behind the wheel.

Thoughts?

You're right, it is a small car so people shouldn't expect it to drive like a large sedan. It's also a HONDA small car, so people should expect the Fit to have a traditional Honda-type ride, which is firm. There are some small cars with softer rides than the Fit, e.g. Accent and Versa, but there are tradeoffs in handling etc. I wonder if new Fit owners who complain about the ride took the car for a loooong test drive over a variety of road surfaces before buying the car?

I'm coming from a 2003 Mazda6 AT, the ride is just as firm, but zippier and nimble (aka fun) actually because of the smaller sized Fit. On smooth roads, it's very nice, on rough roads, the suspension gets clunky, but I still don't mind given the increased interior room of a subcompact hatchback and higher mileage. It's a tradeoff I'm willing to live with. As for seats, you can always get generic seat covers with padding if the support isn't there for you. The fit sits more upright and is probably easier to get in and out, esp for less flexible people.

It's funny you should mention getting in and out of the Fit because I just picked up my Dad the other day for a doctors appointment and he told me it's actually easier entering and exiting the Fit than it is with his Cadallic because the seats sit up higher with handles to grab onto and the doors open so wide.

Side note--We just moved a friend of mine and nobody wanted to use his SUV because boxes kept getting stuck going in and out of the cabin; love those doors!

Uhg, bit much to read through all of that, but you're way blowing the noise issue out of proportion. The car is very quiet on the freeway for an economy car. Wind noise and road noise are very reasonable for an $18K car. The loudest thing is the engine when you're revving it. I don't know what the 08 sounds like on the freeway but my 09 is just fine.

You want super quiet, buy a Lexus, but for a sub $20K car it's all about keeping your expectations realistic.

Bouncy ride? by bygertz

On driving the 2009 fit home I found the ride to be quite bouncy as i went over pavement expansion gaps. to be honest, at 2700 miles it continues to annoy me everyday in the commute to work. A friend borrowed it to check out the Fit and unprompted expressed the same ...BOUNCY!.

I took to the dealer last week and they agreed BOUNCY, but said its within the norm for 2009 fits. I took a ride in another new one, and while not quite as much so, still BOUNCY.

Any ideas? Anyone else bothered by this trait?
