With a referral that package is only $275. And when the salesman winks at the manager that means ring the bell we have another herb for the month.

When every last penny has been wrung out of a deal some places will try to make a profit by selling accessory packages.
People have no idea of the HUGE overhead that a modern car dealership has. they don't care and they really shouldn't care.
But it's there and making a (gasp) profit isn't a bad thing.
I am enjoying my retirement and when I start to miss the business all I have to do is check out a "Prices Paid" forum and I thank you guys for that!

I beg to differ . You probably would give me your best price and i would point out to you that your best price is xxx away from dealers xxx.. And this is the price that gets deal done with me. Do you want to meet or beat. Its a 2 min conversation at best and we both move on. Most people in this forum have no clue how to negotiate face to face with someone. In my 35 years of buying By phone or online i could write 2 best selling books on the slimy tactics and shady practices alot of dealers pull on folks.. lets not go there . .Being our prior conversations were deleted let me say I'm sure you are one of the few... of your dying breed that is honest and decent and does care about folks. More dealerships should try this.. It took me 1 hour yesterday to find honda's bottom line number on a 2013 Accord. I find nothing wrong with that. Yesterday i heard a lifetime of lies and fibs trying to get to that number. Like i said to you last month.. Just Playing your Game. Its not fun when the shoe is on the other foot .. Its not personal.............. just business in the real world.
Enjoy your retirement

Brian is here cause he has no life or GF. And he takes his frustration out here because he got ripped off when he was 20yrs old because he paid a doc. fee that's the real story

Ditto to your post, we'd have a lot more buying power if people didnt fork over hundreds extra dollars in fees and became smart shoppers. Funny thing is the people strapped for cash the most, living paycheck to paycheck and in a tight bind financially are often the ones who go shopping for a car on a Saturday and by noon are getting locked into a car payment they cannot afford with a ridiculous rate attached.
Do your homework folks, the most buyers should be paying now are 750 under invoice and like Brian said add your states doc fees to the 750 amount. As the months go by and we get closer to Memorial Day, prices should be going closer to 1000-1250 under invoice plus any incentives from Honda.

I've bought Honda's since 1983 with the exception of 2 Nissans all from the same dealer. Only maybe twice have i had to ask the Dealer to give me $500 more on my on trades ins on Hondas. Buying Nissans were a little harder to deal with. I don't like to hassle with the dealer at all, they know what they need to make off the new car & trade in. Doing business with the same dealer has always paid off for me. The owner knows me & my wife by name the salesman always steers us to him, everyone in service knows us by our name as well.. No negoationing needed now. We bought a 2012 EXL w/Navi back in Oct. Got a heck of a deal. Dealers if they are any good at all & just wants to sell cars & make a living will give customer a good deal if the customer doesn't jew them down. Customers are wasting the sales persons time. Just my opinon.
