When it first came out I actually called up Chevy corporate and even the customer service rep didn't have a clue about it. Seems like Chevy puts out some limited edition stuff every so often just to keep things interesting, but the problem is, you can't get any tangible info on these things. Anyway, I finally saw a good pic of one of these aveos from a dealer's website, and it was really ugly. Looked like a crayola color or something. It was pimped out though, with some fancy wheels and upgraded audio system. It was called "Maui Blue Spring Edition". This car was priced in the cobalt range, so I bet they had some trouble selling 'em.

The Cobalt currently has a $2000 rebate. Puts it square in line with equivalent Aveo pricing. A 4-door, 5-speed, AC/CD/MP3 Aveo costs around $12,500. After rebate, the Cobalt is about a hundred more. Replying to: poncho167 (Feb 22, 2008 2:05 am) Personally, and I say this after having owned an Aveo hatchback, I would take the Cobalt (all things/options being equal). In the long run, I think you will be happier with the larger vehicle.

Apparently it was a Demo model, or maybe a very quick repo. I got it used with only 6,000 miles yes, six thousand mile. Chevy Aveo LT, with all the added stuff. ABS, Leather interior, Auto, and steering wheel controls.   Checked it up on the Chevy site, though costco, and in Kelly Blue Book.   Chevy MSRP was $16380 Costco Invoice price $15464 KBB Used retail was $15100 (before TT&L)   I picked it up at Good Chevrolet in Seattle for $15,000 out the door. Replying to: poncho167 (Apr 21, 2008 5:29 am) Since it was technically "used" they did the sale as a certified pre-owned. There were no rebates or financing incentives available. (it had 6,000 miles on it)   It was the salesman's bad, when I walked in, I said "What ever i get will be $15,000 out the door (check in hand)" He first said he could do it, then the manager tried to squeeze another $2,000 for a down payment. I got them with "The salesman said he could do $15,000 out the door. Later!" 6 blocks later, the manager called me and said "We will make it happen" They still had to do some certified inspections for the classifications, so they gave me a Malibu to drive until the car is ready, telling me to save the gas receipts for re-embursements, and promised the car to have a full tank and be perfect.

We looked at an Aveo 5 door economy version about 2 weeks ago. The dealer called yesterday and said chevy has a new rebate of $1000.   So we get $1000 rebate, plus another $1000 for being a current Ford owner (2000 or newer ford).   I think the sticker price was about 10K Minus $2000 chevy rebate (apparently just released). Add tax, delivery etc. Minus my GM rebate from our credit card of $1450. Michigan tax is 6%   Out the door price is $7650.   So if you didn't have any GM credit card rebates, it would be about $9000 with tax, or about $8600 without tax.   I guess for a car without air, just manual everything, is it a good deal??
