Chrysler PT Cruiser

A long time ago I helped with audits of dealerships, we did cost out the work needed to do the paperwork and it worked out to about $10-15.

Now it should be much less as most things are done electronically. When I bought my last car the title work was done in about a minute on line with the F&I guy.

Not everyone's paperwork or approval is a straight forward and easy transaction. I'm not even counting the hundreds of times where we worked on an approval for someone (without a deposit), and took up staff time doing so, only to have the customer say they changed their mind and didn't want a vehicle anymore.

but i think the passenger side has a place to unlock the door with the key, at least the base model.

I think that's the problem (2009 Ford Focus). The base model doesn't have a remote and you can't pull the little button up from inside, so the driver has to go around and unlock the door for the passenger before getting into the car himself. Kind of awkward!

Great, once again I don't only get ripped off myself, I also get to pay for all the deadbeats too!

Actually, here with all the Homeland Security stuff we have to do, a title cannot be processed on line. There is a lot more to processing a car deal than doing title work, Verify and fill out payoff forms and then process the title. Package the deal for funding, Solving funding and title problems. In outside liens getting the security agreements to file the lien, Plus much more. But it is a mute point as in reality the Doc Fee has nothing to do with processing the documents. As we have said before, it is dealer - not sales dept. profit. So it means nothing how much time is spent on a deal.

As I said, there is much more paperwork to the sale of a car than the registration process done at the time of sale.

What is with people like that? What kind of dope goes around agreeing to buy a $20-30K item without being sure he really wants it. Probably the same guy who holds me up in the McDonald's drive-thru because he can't choose between the McMuffin and hashbrowns.
