I was at the Blackhawks game last night. I left the stadium after having my car sit for 4 hours in below zero weather. My first thank you - went to the battery for providing enough juice to turn the engine over, my next one - was to the bum warmer gods for offering some warmth while I sat in a parking lot with one exit out.

>As irritating as the inconvenience was, Tahoe has some of the best heated seats in the "biz".

Good. I have not experienced one yet, but I can tell you that Lexus is my top favorite in this department.

The 2000 ES300 I have, starts blowing hot air in less than 60 seconds on a cold 35F morning or chilled air in 100F afternoon. I don't know how they do that. Just amazing.

Use it to port customers around your lot

>For a real treat try a heated steering wheel! (BMW X3)

and a Vented seat on a Lexus IS250. Blows hot or cold air right into your donkey hole.

>To me, the heated seats feel good for the first five minutes, then I start squirming and turn them off.

Mazda must have had you as their designer, as their seat heaters are actually seat warmers. Never gets HOT. Always provides a nice warm feeling.

new commericial with Howie Long making fun of the heated steering wheel in the Dodge pickup?

From BlogCritic:
Commercial #2: In another separate incident, a man accidentally backs up into Long's truck. Long gets out, approaches the star struck driver, and notices the man's heated steering wheel. (They are easily distinguishable from unheated sheering wheels, because they are covered in glitter and unicorns.) Mr. Long then asks the man if he has a manicure. If the fender bender wasn't enough humiliation, having hands warmed by modern technology with trimmed cuticles is a real societal death knell. Long victoriously struts back to his Silverado, desperately careful not to trip over his own testicles.

(Side note: When Howie Long appears on FOX NFL Sunday, he wears eyeglasses, but he took them off for the commercial since eyeglasses were popularized by Elton John.)

First of all, brilliant move on Chevrolet's part. If your competitor's cars have features, just make fun of the people who buy those cars. It worked in fourth grade and it still works today.

I'm with our Host, do these commercials actually work on anyone with an IQ of more than 10?

>Chevy guys would never buy a Ford or Toyota truck, and Ford guys wouldn't switch, either.. They are preaching to the choir...

In most circumstances this is true. And their ad should be tailored to reel in the beginner, one who is not a hardcore anything yet.

It did not work with me even in 4th grade. I am still puzzled by the way kids bully other kids over advantages the other has. I simply can't understand why they do that.

From the 1st commercial in case you forgot:
Commercial #1: Hall of Fame Raiders linebacker and noted flathead Howie Long witnesses an unnamed individual in the bed of a pickup truck. Said individual pulls down an extra step from the edge and gingerly climbs down to the ground as if to say "I'm on my period." The alpha male football player helps out his lesser equal by pointing out that he forgot to put his "little, uh, man step" back in its place. Consequently, the socially awkward and probably gay truck driver is put in his place. Howie Long shakes his head and walks back to his Chevrolet Silverado.

I guess if you didn't think of it for your product, it's best to make fun of the guy who does have it!

You aren't missing anything.

I have driven one, its a pretty fun car to drive. As a second commuter car I don't think it can be beat. Just about everyone I have talked to that has one loves it.

Even Consumer's Reports said they were the worst car they ever tested.

To be totally honest if CR told me the sky was blue I would look and make sure. From what I have seen I wouldn't trust them to give me the correct time of day.
