Replying to: graphicguy (Jan 13, 2009 8:23 am) While no fan of that oil man I'm not sure he's the whole story. The 60 minutes piece mentioned that the oil speculation started with Enron at the end of the reign of the man who felt your pain. Most of our political leaders are bought and paid for. The current mess is the result. I try to resist becoming a "true believer" for either side. I just hope that our domestic auto industry can come out of the position that our leaders have put it in. |

Replying to: richard64 (Jan 13, 2009 10:33 am) Are you suggesting there's something you don't like about Ohio? (Imidazol97 says sitting looking at the indoor/outdoor thermometer reading 10.9 Fahrenheit on the ledge of the storage barn!!! and lower to come tonight and next two nights.)

Replying to: snakeweasel (Jan 13, 2009 8:12 pm) The coldest day of my life was in your city on Christmas Eve, 1969. I was trying to get home from a business trip. I had the last ticket on the last flight out of Chicago before they closed the airport due to ice and snow. Why do I remember this so well? There are two reasons. My friend's Pontiac GTO died on the way to the terminal, and I nearly missed my flight. Secondly, we damaged the landing gear on take-off because we hit a block of ice and snow that the ground crew missed. It was repaired in-flight. I've never been so glad to get off of a plane in my life. I haven't returned to your city since then. Richard |
