i went with awd, cost less than 2k, but i don't have to buy tires/rims.
does cost some gas mileage all year round.

AWD doesn't help you at all to stop. That's what winter tires are for.
A lot of people get over confident with AWD thinking they can drive like they usually do, and they get into trouble.

Apologies to our hosts for the off topic, but I felt it was important to clarify this common misconception.

I don't know how common the misconception is but it is a point worth making.

You sound just like the sales guys in here.

LOL......you know oldfarmer, you're right. I am starting to sound like a car sales guy.

Truth is, if I ever did get into the car sales, I'd probably be fired the first day. I like easy transactions. I don't have the temperament to deal with people who try to slam a good car. Nor, do I have the patience to play games for $100.

While I don't buy by grinding, I do have a new found respect for what the sales guys here go through. Some of these people are spending more in gas, than what they'd save. Most are from KY (I'm in OH). It's a 35-40 minute trip, one way, to get from northern KY to where I live.

richard...my apologies. I knew someone wanted a black GM. Just didn't remember who.

I'd say it's pretty common, judging by the amount of Subarus and SUVs flying by at 80MPH during our nor'easters!

Common enough that after major snowstorms the vast majority of the cars I see in the ditch have AWD.

When I had my 3 Series, I can relate what having only two rear snow tires did. It really threw off the handling. Things got real squirrely on both wet and dry pavement....to the point that I considered it dangerous. And, I'm a fairly fearless man.

Putting on 4 like show tires solved that problem.

I don't think there are any all wheel drive convertibles.

Audi A4 Cabrio is available with Quattro AWD.

Perfect for the winters in Colorado (as I watch the snow fall today outside my office window).

We have sold our 3 Challenger SRT8s for over sticker

The 09 Challengers are selling well too.

We still have some new 07 models sitting in the showroom

When times are tough, I go and ask for a raise from my boss and get it

Many sub prime customers with horrible credit want loaded Hemis, and Ram Diesels that they can't afford... but they end up driving away happy in used Aveos and Cobalts.

I haven't smoked for almost 3 months and saved nearly $1000.

In this uncertain economy I take on as much responsibility as I can and learn as much as I can (dealership functions) so that in worst case scenario if I have to work elsewhere I'll have a ton of knowledge and experience.

So have you been by a GM dealership lately to collect some brochures? Certainly looks like the Ram isn't going to be "tough" much longer.
