You guys are really showing your age. Good thing I've got an OLDER sister who played these songs when I was YOUNG so I can pick them up.

Mack.....Mustang Sally-Wilson Pickett

duke....Sounds of Silence-Simon and Garfunkel

kyfdx.....I had tickets to Petty/Winwood. Had a work crisis (seems like everything's a crisis right now for work) and missed it. Read the review.....must have been a good concert.

Back to vehicles......ran into two quasi sales related instances only yesterday. First one, I'm a BBQ junky. While my 'burg isn't really known for it's BBQ, there is one place that I believe stands above all others 'round here. As I was traveling to it, I very accidentally came upon the NAOC (National Associaltion Oldsmobile Club) in a parking lot near the BBQ place. Stopped by impromptu. Pretty impressive...given that Oldsmobile is dead and their hey days pretty long ago. Some very sharp Rocket 88s from the 50s and 60s. A couple tasty '60s era 4-4-2s. Some chrome drenched ones from the 40s and 50s. Most were 4 sale.

Could have picked up a cherry 4-4-2 for about $25K. To me, the best iron there was the first gen Toronados. Big (and I mean BIG) huge V8s with FWD. I wished I was more knowledgeable about the worth of antique cars. I may have pulled the trigger on one.

There's a local school for the deaf that holds a summer festival every year to raise money of the school. They always have really nice vehicles to raffle off. This year, it's twin Harley's. I volunteer to work at this festival every year. I think I must have bought $50 worth of tickets for the Harleys. We'll find out today whether I win (fingers crossed). Not exactly sure what I'll do with them if I do win. My motorcycle days are in the past. And, the biggest two wheeler I ever owned was of the 750cc variety. I thought that was big. I'm not one of the "grey bearded recapture my youth" brigade that cruises around in packs on these bikes either.

Mack, you are doing so well. This is the second story that you have completed at one sitting within 24 hours. Now, if you will only finish the Jim Gridell story. He's getting older by the minute, and won't be able to drive soon.

One of our sales guys was on a test drive when the customer t-boned a guy at an intersection. Rolled a $102k Cayenne. Everyone walked away.

Edit: Except the guy that got t-boned. I believe he was seriously injured.

I've never been in an accident during a test drive but I keep a VERY tight leash on my customers. I don't tolerate breaking the law or doing something stupid.

Recent immigrants scare me to the point, I don't let them on the freeway. I've been scared too many times.

"...Then they will tell me how they see them "going" on Craig's List for $8000.00..."

Craig's List can be very entertaining. There are a few real gems in there too. One thing I remember learning here is that if the car has a "story" it's probably better to pass.

My favorite CL story started like this: "The car ran great until my son tried to change the fuel filter and broke off the fuel line. I'm too old and fat to fix it."

Got to give the seller points for honesty.

All in favor say aye. AYE,AYE,AYE,AYE,AYE.......the motion is passed!

Congratulations Richard!!

Now hold on a minute thar Baba Louie! Here I've already spent all this money flying Lil' Kim and her posse in to speak at next weeks fund raiser, and you guys have already claimed victory?

This electoral process has been a sham all along. I can only imagine who is behind all of this, pulling the strings of Sir Richard... it can only be the puppet master himself, out to split apart and destroy the last remnants of Team Jipster... THE TIDESTERNATOR!

A friend had a car in a dealer for repair. The mechanic took it on a test drive with the owner riding along. The mechanic rear-ended a car at the stoplight. Mechanic hopped out and walked back to the dealership.

Years ago, we owned an Acura store.

An idiot kid on a test drive in an Integra managed to hit a pole while doing something fast and stupid.

He was killed. The salesperson was hurt but not badly.
