"I'm afraid that my next car will be so technically advanced that I won't be able to drive the damn thing."

Excellent point. The car I bought a few months ago was certainly smarter than the person who delivered it to me. I later found in the pile of paper he handed me a ~15-item check list of things that were supposed to be set up at delivery -- things like getting the XM fully operational, memory seats, radio presets, bluetooth pairing, all kinds of stuff. The good news is that the owners manual is very comprehensive & clearly written; I was able to get it all done myself over a period of several weeks.

The even better news is that the actual driving part of the car is just the same as always, with a very sweet 6-speed manual.

Keep the faith.

I bet that you are absolutely correct. Gp must have intended "expect". That would make better sense. See how important the English language is?

Congratulations on your great deal. You "harpooned the giant whale" at just the right time.

I'm glad that you had a good owner's manual. With some time, I believe that I could learn the new gadgets on a car, but this new cell phone is driving me crazy. The manual isn't bad, but the illustration pictures are so small that I'm having to use a magnifying glass.

Enjoy that new drive.

You'll be pleased to know that things are continuing on as always. No conclusions of any kind.

You'll see. One of these days, we'll just get a string of 10 conclusions to stories we can't remember the beginnings of. ;P

I've been wanting to say the same thing now for weeks. There are hardly any stories that run from start to finish in the same day around here. I love hearing these stories. Please tell us some more stories!

JM&A= Jim Moran and Associates=Southeast Toyota's Financing arm, service contracts, etc.. Jim Moran passed away earlier this year or late last year. He was the first to get a Toyota distributorship in the US. He was a true car guy. R.I.P.
