They take a look at the demographics of a certain "zone" and charge the dealer according to the relative wealth of the area.   The only problem is that the prices go up in my metro area when I get closer to the ghettos. Wonder why???

Replying to: imidazol97 (Jul 08, 2008 2:38 pm) You can't just look at the economy in general to get an accurate picture of auto sales. The market is down but my buddy is the GSM of an import store where volume us up 12% year over year. He took the place over 3 years ago and is up 50% from then.

I used to live in Stamford, CT. It had REALLY expensive gas. Next town over is Greenwich, CT. It's A LOT more affluent than Stamford yet had cheaper gas.
