Replying to: oldfarmer50 (Jul 08, 2008 1:05 pm) Could very well be different jurisdictions with different tax rates. I used to live in Cook County but very close to Du Page County where taxes were about 2% different. I used to cross the county line all the time to get gas at 5 cents or more less. Now I think gas is like 20 cents or more more expensive in cook county than many of the surrounding counties simply because of the tax rates.

Replying to: snakeweasel (Jul 08, 2008 2:03 pm) I think that's it rather than "zone pricing" by the big oil companies. I used to live in Stamford, CT. It had REALLY expensive gas. Next town over is Greenwich, CT. It's A LOT more affluent than Stamford yet had cheaper gas.
