You just reminded me of all the people who read the book " How to beat the dealer " and I am taalking about the dealerships in this case not Vegas... You can always tell who read it... or read it on line because they will say they are just paying cash... car is for someone else... my favorite " I am not trading" than after 2 hours of negotiating... "well what will you give for me my trade" Have a great day everyone. GP

They take a look at the demographics of a certain "zone" and charge the dealer according to the relative wealth of the area. So if you have a rather affluent area next to a poor one you will see a big difference between the two. Imagine if car dealers did that. Thank goodness they only charge you based on how expensive your shoes are.

Sold plenty of them at MSRP, with an "enviromental protection package" also known as "rust and dust", "extended warranties" or as the F$I guys like to say; "Vehicle Service Agreements."

I used to live in Cook County but very close to Du Page County where taxes were about 2% different. I used to cross the county line all the time to get gas at 5 cents or more less. Now I think gas is like 20 cents or more more expensive in cook county than many of the surrounding counties simply because of the tax rates.
