From a Hybrid to a Hemi????? How can you do that? It defies all logic.

I think they wanted something new and they got a Great price on it.

Next month they'll want to dump it for better gas mileage.

How do you explain this? by jmonroe

About 2 weeks ago I get a mailer from the local BMW store to come in. It said “prices have never been better”. I’ve never been in that store.

Last week I get a phone call from the Lexus dealer. Same thing.

Today I get a mailer from Audi USA.

Are these guys hurting so much they’ve now resorted to going after Hyundai customers? Am I now worthy of moving up?

And I bet they got a gold plated mini-shovel in the glove compartment.! They're going to need it to get out of it.

Unfortunately the current state of affairs has hit the big guys too. I saw that on Automotive News. They are now reduced to soliciting Hyundai customers! What's next? Kia customers?

It had better been one heck of a deal. You could not give me a good enough deal on a gas gussler.

I hope everyone had a great Mother's day celebration. Mine was pretty good! My wife sent me out on an errand and when I got back she was waiting for me in a very sexy gown and some rope.
"Tie me up and you can do anything you want.!"
So I did and went golfing!

Mrs. jmonroe was watching Dancing with the Stars, saw it, jumped up and said what is that and starts laughing. It can’t get much closer than that.

I have seen it more in the last two weeks then I ever have. That is people trading down. Allot of big SUV's and trucks for the Fusions and the Focus. We had a conversation today that if the trend continues we are going to have all the gas guzzlers we can stand in our used car inventory and will have to start trading on buy bids only.

But for the life of me I cannot understand how people can justify in there minds that they are being thrifty buy parking there 12 MPG SUV with a $550 a month payment and then buying a new Focus for $325 a month. You can put allot of gas in that SUV for $325 a month, and that does not even take into consideration the added insurance and maintanence cost. plus you are still paying the $550 for a car you are not driving.

To me the only way it makes sense is if you can pay cash for a car that you can recoup your costs in a year from the gas savings.

For the most part a car that is worth $2500 today will be worth close to that a year from now.

Today I had someone trying to get out of a 2007 Dodge Crew Cab STX 2WD with 10,700 miles on it. 8 cyl. It also had a cap on the back. They owed $21,000.

What would you guys ACV this for vehicle? Real Money????

We ACV'd it at $10,000

Just curious about the different markets...

We would be in the $11K-$12K range depending on if it was the 4.7 or 5.7 V8 and how hard the 10K miles were.
