I would gladly see The Mariners get swept in the World Series, the Rockies made the list of "never beens" one shorter.

You are absolutely PRICELESS! I love it! Only a paratrooper from Nashville could think of that.

Thanks, Steve. I checked it out, but it doesn't appear to be as much fun as this site. Don't miss what Joel wrote this morning. It is sooooo good.

Do you hear those sirens? Its It's the Grammar Police! Run for your lifes! I mean lives!

As someone who holds an English degree, I absolutely hate apostrophe abuse. In some cases, I've walked around town and grocery stores using a marker to remove additional apostrophes whenever possible. I've even contacted the editor of the New York Times to complain about an article using an apostrophe to indicate plural instead of possessive. I also get annoyed when folks use an apostrophe for possessive "its," when they don't realize that the apostrophe makes that into "it's = it is."

Oh yeah, I also dislike "whom" abuse. They should do a better job of teaching folks when to use whom and when to us who.

Ok, sorry...rant over.

Well, as much fine as it might be here, we can't just let every discussion be a free-for-all. I love grammar as much as the next obsessive geek, but we do need to take those conversations to the grammar forum. We'll just move posts as needed.

And... we could MAKE other discussions fun, no?

And now to bring it back on topic there is an old Land Rover ad that used that very same trick. I think I have a copy of it in my Retrospective and if I do I will scan it in tonight at home.

Are those pictures of Mack's fellow salespeople? I might buy from the one in the middle, but the rest look kinda...funny.

Get your head out of the...this is a car site. Are you trying to say you wouldn’t buy a used car from any of the others?

I once talked to an Audi salesman in Colorado. He didn't say anything about sensors, but he said that in high elevation 4-cylinder turbo engines are more powerful than a V6 naturally aspirated - which is the opposite for us at sea level...

mico, Thanks for the info. i was pretty sure we had some guys here from Denver that might be able to answer that question. But they might be up set with people from Boston and are refusing to answer me.
