What is "wrong" with these new subcompacts?

Maybe sold out... as in.. you can't order one for 2008..
 
But, my local dealer has at least a dozen on the lot that aren't spoken for, and more arriving every week..
 
Not that they don't sell like crazy... and for full MSRP..
