Building the VUE Green Line group by pf_flyer HOST

Since the VUE Green Line is a brand new vehicle, we'll pretty much be building this group from scratch. I'll be creating some of the basic discussions that we will need, like:

New Saturn VUE Green Line Owners -Give Us Your Report
Saturn VUE Green Line - Real World MPG Numbers
Saturn VUE Green Line Interior & Passenger Comfort Questions
Saturn VUE Green Line Tire/Wheel Questions
Saturn VUE Green Line Hybrid Engine Issues
Saturn VUE Green Line Transmission Questions
Saturn VUE Green Line Suspension/Steering Issues
Saturn VUE Green Line Driving Tips & Tricks
VUE Green Line - A New Hybrid System?

Please be sure to check the discussion list on the main Saturn VUE Green Line Hybrid Group page for an appropriate discussion before you post. Being a new vehicle, there certainly could be issues that come up that will be unique and need their own discussions. Please feel free tostart up new discussions as new issues arise.

Thanks for your help in getting the Saturn VUE Green Line Hybrid Group off the ground!

The 2007 Saturn Vue Green Line sport-utility vehicle offered improved fuel economy over gas-only Vues, via a less complicated hybrid system used by Toyota and Ford. From the article i've read, the Vue Green Line will be the first hybrid SUV available in front-wheel-drive only. Less Complex System
with Vue Green Line uses an electric motor and nickel-metal hydride battery pack to supplement a 2.4-liter Ecotec four-cylinder engine with 170 horsepower, this Vue cannot run beyond a few short seconds solely on electric power. Features are improvised like with saturn headlight cover, emblem, hood, etc.

Sounds like you work for Saturn, or you copied those words off of a Saturn website.

In any case, the information is wrong. Both the Toyota Highlander and Ford Escape (both full dual mode "full" hybrids) offer either FWD or AWD.

Toyota disagrees with you:

Perhaps they are saturn employees as well.

Ummm, not sure if you meant to paste in a comment from Toyota? You pasted in my original comment instead.

The HH and Escape are both available in FWD models. I almost bought a FWD Escape myself last year...

Sorry, my link didn't get pasted:

Scroll down to drivetrain.... FWD is N/A.

The escape, though, does come with FWD.

I was going by Edmunds, but I just realized that they were referring to the 2007 model.

I'm not surprised that they went to AWD on all models; using electric motors instead of a transmission is very weight-effective, so it doesn't have the MPG penalty of a traditional AWD SUV setup.

"The escape, though, does come with FWD."

Which goes back to my original point about the Vue not being the only hybrid SUV out there with FWD...

2007 VUE Greenline-Exchange vehicle? by saabski

Hello all, I have an offer of $21,995 plus TT&L for 2007 VUE Greenline. It's a dark blue with comfort package and window tint. $3,000 off MSRP of $24,995. Also, this is an "exchange" vehicle where a previous owner drove it less than 3,000 miles and traded it in (or exchange) for another Saturn. Has anybody heard of this program before? Good thing is that this program lets it qualify for new car financing plus GM's stellar 5 year 100,000 mile powertrain warranty!
Also, is $21,995 a fair price for 2007? I know that there's a $3,000 rebates, but it seems like I could ask for more off (even though Saturn is a no-haggle price dealer).

Any input would be appreciated.

Saturn has a Vehicle Exchange Program. If you are not completely satisfied with your new Saturn vehicle, you'll have 30 days or 1,500 miles from delivery, whichever comes first, to exchange it for another same model year Saturn vehicle. Obviously, the vehicle must be returned in the condition in which it was delivered. Any vehicle returned will be inspected for damage and excessive wear and tear. If non-warranty repairs equal to or greater than $300 have been performed or are necessary, the vehicle is not eligible to be returned. If less than $300, the damage repair estimate will be deducted from the refund/credit.

Understand the vehicle you are considering is no longer a new vehicle.
