With parts coming from everywhere, does "Buying American" have much meaning anymore? Is quality and price the bottom line?

It looks dead stock, but, its got a built 1966 Vintage Olds 425 big block under the hood, a modified M400 Tranny, positraction, later model disc brakes, upgraded suspension, and a reinforced chassis. The thing accelerates like its shot out of a cannon. My son doesn't really know what its top end is, he runs out of speedometer way before the car tops out. Some of us live in that general area. 160 mph through downtown and over the bridge would be hair-raising. 70 mph used to be the typical speed and that was fast enough. Replying to: fezo (Dec 21, 2008 12:10 pm) Being a home owner in the Hilo area I can tell you what sells best. Domestic trucks are about matched with Asian PU trucks. About the only domestic cars you see are rentals. The locals drive mostly Honda, Subaru and Toyota. The older wagons are popular. My renter sold her 1991 Honda Accord wagon with a blown engine for $3000. I was amazed. Not sure what happens to all the domestic rentals.
