Hi guys. I decided to replace the power steering pump of my 1990 Accord myself . Is it pretty much unbolt and bolt the new one? Is there anything that I need to do about bleeding or draining the power steering fluid and tensioning the belt? A step by step guide in doing this replacement would be much appreciated. Thanks

Hi all, Can someone refresh my memory and and tell me when the ABS light goes on what does it mean and is it expensive to fix. Will a brake job be totally unrelated to an ABS job? My thought was if I had a brake job done it'll fix the ABS lighting problem. Thanks Cybercool

Replying to: miyage007 (Apr 30, 2008 2:56 pm) The belt deflection is: BELT DEFLECTION [1] New Belt 9.5 - 11.5 mm (0.37 - 0.45 in) Used Belt 12.5 - 16.0 mm (0.50 - 0.62 in) OR you can use: BELT TENSION [2] New Belt 700 - 900 N (70 - 90 kg, 154 - 198 lbs) Used Belt 350 - 500 N (35 - 50 kg, 77 - 110 lbs) [1] As measured between pulleys with 22 lbs (10 Kg) of force. A used belt is defined as been continuously running for five minutes. [2] Using tension gauge. When using a new belt, first adjust the deflection or tension to the values for a new belt, then run the engine for five minutes and readjust the deflection or tension to the values for used belt. |

My Honda was driving fine yesterday. This morning, I could not start it-- the key would not turn and the shiftstick would not move. My ten-year old son was fumbling inside the car yesterday but he denied touching anything except the garage door opener. What happened? What to do? Thanks for any advice you can give.

That can lock things up until you turn it. Mrbill
