On balance, I think they did a fine job with the top 10.

Sorry, haven't been following the M3 gestation, as I also am in the minority that appreciates the sedan, which has been gone for a while.

   I would expect a 400HP V8, slotting below the 500HP V10 in the M5.

And I wouldn't expect BMW to repeat the mistake of forgetting the clutch!

I think the 5 is much better-looking than the 3, myself. But the 3 is not a dog. The IS is sexier doh.

Cadillac as the best anything?

Well, Cadillac built the world's only V-16 engine from 1930-1940.

Here is the most exotic Cadillac V16 ever built, this 1937 two-door convertible with a body by Hartmann.

Re-read. I said "as". Not what Cadillac "was" or might have been 70 years ago.

Nice car though. It makes the devolution of GM in the intervening half century all the more sad.

Hard to believe Cadillac was once (literally) the car of Kings.

Cadillac is kind of like a rehabilitated drunkard who is now doing rather well--not from the gutter to the top of the heap exactly, not quite rags to riches, but in a much improved condition in every respect--rebuilding its family, pressed shirt and shined shoes every day....but you just never, ever know if it's going to fall off the wagon and go on a binge of self-destruction again like it 30 years ago. Part of the problem is who Cadillac hangs out with---will someone from GM slip it a fatal bottle of rotgut whiskey? I sure hope not.
