48 month lease IS 350 by tony3000

Hi everyone, this is my first post.

I am in S. Florida, talking with several dealers here. On an IS 350, w/ luxury plus package, nav system, on a 48 month lease, told that residual value is 45% (which seems low to me) -- I was quoted $565 /mo (includes tax) with $1500 down, 12k. I think I can do better. Anyone have input? I appreciate the help.

I have also been quoted $579 per month -- sign and drive -- doesn't include tax 36 mos.

Also, is it a bad idea to lease for 48 mos?

No one is going to tell you if it is a good deal until they see what the deal is. Never lease a car based on payment. You need to know the purchase price, residual and money factor to see if you are getting a good deal.

Most will tell you that is a bad idea to lease 48 months. I think a lot of that comes from don't lease longer then the car's warranty, with most cars at 3 years. Since the Lexus has a 4 year warranty I don't think it is that bad. My IS250 is a 4 year lease I thought at that time that was the best deal I could get, they were selling at sticker when I leased it. My G35 is at 39 months since that was the best dealer Infiniti was offering. One thing to think about, most Lexus leases have a sweet spot at 36-39 months. If the dealer is offering a 48 month lease there is a good chance it is not from Lexus. My 48 month IS250 lease is US Bank. I wish I knew what I did now back then because I am sure I could have gotten a much better deal. Almost always the manufacturer is going to have better lease terms.

Based on my lease kit, at 48 mos, 15k your residual should be 51%. So you might be getting shorted there. I would really recommend you only do a 36 mon. deal to keep it under warranty. You can see from my recent deal for a 250 you could do much better on the sales price and $ down. $561 seems pretty steep, considering the market.

Check out http://www.leaseguide.com/ it helped me quite a bit.

Hi Everyone,

The Lexus dealership I've been working with told me that if I don't give them a verbal commitment over the phone today to buy a IS350, the interest rate I've been quoted on a lease (about 6.24%), will go up by a point starting tomorrow and will last till September. I suspect this is just a ploy to buy this car now, but I just want to make sure.

Also, is this an acceptable offer for a IS350?
Original MSRP about $44,500
IS350 36 months/10,000 miles per month
$528 per month
$2500 down payment
3% tax, title and fees are included
approx 6.24% interest rate (.0026 money factor)

Thanks for your help!
