If only the SRT8 came with AWD. Until then I'll stick with my R/T AWD.

Don't like new grill, or the new antena by goofytiml

I think the new '08 Magnum grill looks too much like the Caliper, or Mini-Mag as I call them. And the new antena looks like a throw back to the old analog cell phone era. I think it's just to get away from the problems some/many had with AM/FM radio reception with the rear glass imbedded antena (perhaps more related to tinting options). I've never had those issues, but I'm not a fan of the pokey pig tail.

Actually, its the Caliber. And considering the Caliber was styled after the Magnum originally, it is the other way around.

what kind of help are you looking for? I assume pricing? It is really really tough to price something like that. I mean, I would say price a used one and subtract for miles.

All I can tell you is that I recently saw one just like you describe but with 5k miles advertised for $21,995. Even if we assume paying full asking price on that one, and we allow for 20 cents per mile, then I would say one with zero miles should be around $23k.

The only concerns with a car sitting for 2 years are the fluids. If there was gas sitting in there, it is in bad shape by now. And the oil may not look bad, but it should be changed, too.

Well, it can't hurt to make an offer. The worst they can do is say no.

I have only this to say, I paid a lot for my RT, much more than most admit to, with all the goodies, extended six year warranty, tire and wheel damage warranty for six years (replacement as long as there are wear bars, up to $5000). But the true mark of how much you like your car is even if you did not get a great deal or what, you still love it many many miles later. So I can say that the large sum paid was well worth it, and I'd do it again. Not many RTs out there with Cold Air Hood Scoops and Candy Pearl Red. Yup a keeper!!!

2006 R/T AWD by jacklionel

Just bought a NOS R/T AWD for $23,900. Great car, no problems so far (time will tell).

The only fluid I would worry about would be the old gasoline. I store my '87 Grand National for long periods, and have never had any problems (I put in gasoline stabilizer). That's a good reminder though. I'll put in some drygas and injector cleaner tonight (the old gas has already been diluted with a fresh tankful).

Has anyone else bought an extended service contract? I'm considering getting the no-deductible, 7-year, 50K mile contract ($1,480 plus $200 extra for the AWD). I normally try to avoid dealer service, but with the exotic parts on this car, I think that it may be a good idea. The last time I brought my Mercury Grand Marquis into a dealer, it cost about $700 (they had to replace a circuit board).

I figure any time you really need dealer service, it's going to cost you at least $500, if not $1,500 or $2,500 (or more). So paying $1,680 now seems like cheap insurance and peace of mind.
