Major question I have for Si owners in their 20s (I'm 24); how much are you paying for insurance?   Also, and tall drivers? Seems like the Si is pretty small; are the taller drivers comfortable?   Otherwise, test drove this car and the fit and finish is amazing for the price... I went to purchase a 2006 civic EX coupe and asked about the XM ready. They said it would cost me $1,000 to have XM radio. They had to put in another radio? Is this BS. What does XM radio mean? I put in a after market radio that was XM ready. I had to buy an XM adaptor for $50 and the antenna for another $50 = $100. What has been your experience with getting the XM radio on your new 2006 civic?

First let me say I am 31 yrs old, never had an accident that was my fault, no speeding tickets for the last 14 years and no criminal record whatsover. So I should be paying $750 a year right ? Yeah I was for my 99 Chevy truck with full coverage.....My new Civic Si is $1440 per year. They say people love to steal Civics and that is what is jacking up the price of insurance. Now keep in mind I could go down to Bubba Smiths Insurance company and get insurance for less, but I would also like to get my car fixed if anything happens to it......I like Insurance companies that stand behind the policy. Replying to: macydog (Jan 31, 2006 4:20 pm) You went from an older (and therefore, less valuable) domestic vehicle (cheaper parts) coupe (2 door) with a performance oriented bent.   And you are blaming your increase in price on the fact that more civics are stolen than 99 chevy trucks?   That isn't a reasonable assertion. Some suggestions: if your deductible is $250, move it to $500. thanks for the info guys i will be making my decision soon; esurance quotes me about 1000-1200 a year with a 500 dollar detuctible... maybe a little more than 100 a year for what i pay now; i had a problem with the head room when i drove the si; i am also 5'11'' my camry has a lot of headroom but hey its no si

Replying to: macydog (Jan 31, 2006 4:20 pm) I just picked up my Si 2006 yesterday, I'm older with an excellent record too and my insurance agent gave me the same price of $750.00 yearly. The only comment made by the agent was to aviod areas of high crime. No kidding .... Anyway,the car is an execellent buy for short money for someone like me going through a mid-life crisis.

Replying to: sigt1 (Jan 31, 2006 8:17 am) I bought my '06 Si Jan 3rd.. I'm 6' 2" and have no problem at all driving this car.. I love it!! My wife however is 22 and our insurance is outragious! For the Si it was over $800 for 6mths. But overall its worth the $$.

Just had a car declared total from them (stolen) and one my fault accident...involving a publicly owned Crown Vic with a lightbar.   When I move in a few months, it goes down to about $1150/year before multi car/homeowners discounts etc.
