Replying to: midnightcowboy (Jan 25, 2006 2:07 pm) I had heard that they have gotten better reviews on reliability, but my friend who drives a Jetta has had some horror stories for me. I'm really curious as to how much I could get the accord for under MSRP. I'm really excited about the drives in store - and I hope I don't fall in love with the GTI. My guess is (realistically) that it will come down to the civic si, or an 05 wrx. Unless I could get the accord for somewhere around or under 25k. I don't want any NAV option because I plan on purchasing Garmin's new 7" VOA Touchscreen unit (much nicer than any factory NAV). I'm torn between Law School and Film school - Money vs. Love. You know the drill - starving artist, or stressed out single wealthy bachelor. thanks again! Don |

I'm happy to say that I got 32.1 mpg on my last tankful of gas with my 06 si. I did mostly highway driving, and the highways were slower moving ones for the most part. I went 71 mph with the cruise control on, and on the slower highways I only went 64 mph. I shift around 3500 to each gear. I know these are slow speeds but I wanted to see how good the car would do. It has 2000 miles on it now so maybe the mpg will get even better!

| Accord puts out 240HP. It has tested 0-60 runs in 5.9-6.2 seconds. Best I have seen yet for the Si is 6.7. Additionally, the Accord has more torque and HP at lower RPM which means it's easier to duplicate the times vs. the higher-revving Si. | |

Chuck, You call 71mph "slow"? What's the speed limit where you live? In any case, you can't expect to drive faster and faster and get better mileage that way. Pick one or the other- high speed or good mileage. I think you are really lucky to get the mileage you do! Guess it's because you don't do a lot of city driving or stop and go driving. Strumelia
