Experience/opinion of Fleetrates.com by bully5

Hi

i have receieved a quotation from these folks on a new RR.

My question is does anyone have experience of buying from them, are they legitimate, reliable etc?

Their pricing appears better than the dealer, although not by much.

Any feedback much appreciated.

I do see some anecdotal feedback on them..

If you don't like negotiating, and you want someone to take care of everything for you, then they seem to do okay... But, if you are looking for a skinny deal, and it looks like they aren't going to make a lot on the deal, then you get shuffled down to the bottom of the pile.. E-mails and phone calls go unanswered, etc..

In my opinion, a broker just adds cost to the equation.. If you are willing to pay that cost, they'll fall all over themselves trying to help you out.. If you are looking for a good deal, then you'll likely get worse service than you would going directly to the dealership..

regards,
kyfdx

Also Land Rover dealers are not even supposed to sell to brokers. We get a couple of bulletins a year reminding us of this and their are some rather harsh penalties associated with it. Makes me think that any dealer willing to skirt the rules to sell to a broker isn't going to offer up a very good deal in the first place.

Many thanks. I agree about the whole broker thing.
In this case, the dealer cannot seem to match the fleetrates price. I am going to put one more call into the dealer to see if they will budge.

Don't burn any bridges with your dealer... You may find that fleetrates can't deliver on that low price that they promise upfront..

Good luck, either way..

Want to buy a basic Range Rover HSE 15K miles/month. I live in California- I got a rate of 5000 down and 1100 month for 30 months through a broker- but it seemed questionable. What is the going rate now. I hear that it has gotten more expensive since Tata took over the company in the last one month. Any advise on which dealership in California is best. Any help would be greatly appreciated- I'm buying in two weeks. Thanks and if you know the buy rate for 15k 30 or 36 months- please post

I have been offered a $7500.00 discount off of the 2008 LR3, I was told that this is the new May incentive. Has anyone else been offered the same or more?

Are you in Texas by chance? There is some kind of pilot program there with large incentives but it doesn't exist in any other state.

There is some owner loyalty money and really complicated lease cash money that can be used as a discount to the car but only when using a non-land rover lease.

Are you leasing the LR3?

Im in Maryland. It is $7500.00 lease cash when using a non-land rover lease. There is also $3000.00 owner loyalty money.
