IS 250 RWD in Orange County, CA by hkhkhk

Thanks to this board first and it is very helpful to decide the price range. I'd like to share my experience.

I got 'IS 250 RWD' w/premium package, 18in-wheel, mats (MSRP $33954) yesterday.....I've read previous writing from you guys and decided the price about $2500 off....

Then I went to 'lexus of westminster' in beach blvd and did test drive(I love this car!!). And decided to buy one.

As usual, the dealer and I sat down and started negotiation.

He said, "what do you think about the price?"
I said, '$3000 off' (simplified..^^)
Then he went the manager and offered $1500 off.....
I did counteroffer $2500 off....

He came back with $2200 off....it was close to my thinking.
I counteroffered $2354 off....done deal!!!

So, I got the car on $31600+tax+fees.
It was ***total $2354 off***

I thought this price is not too bad. I did simplify the conversations between dealer and I. But, he was very kind and he made the deal very smooth between I and manager, I think.

And Now,I am really excited. This car is sooooooo much better than I thought. I am completely satisfied.

I hope this info. can give some ideas how to deal the price. And aftere deal, I felt I would budge off a little more. So, GOOD LUCK TO YOU !!

HK

I asked when 2007 model come out and he said it would be this OCT. or NOV. because I was thinking to buy 2007 one.

DC Area buying by mleanh

Thanks for all who have posted helpful information to this board. I have just jumped into the process of (hopefully) buying an IS, and have been reading through the posts.

I wanted to ask anyone with experience in the DC area what it looks like in terms of discounting now. I looked at a dealer's inventory near me and see 8 IS350s, and 31 IS250s; is it safe to assume that the days of MSRP (or close) pricing from dealers are coming to an end?

Is about $2500-3K off MSRP too much to think of right now in DC?

I just bought an IS250 AWD w/Lux, Nav, head lamp washers, Z1 package for 35,815. I hope this is a good deal. I had to do a lot of research, including this forum's info and went through lots of deals with a number of dealership...Consequently, the result was great. I'm happy with this price and hope this info help you guys on the search for this type of vehicle...I live in NE, and the location of the car I bought is: Watertown Lexus.....Good luck and have fun shopping.....Thanks to all of you who shared their info in this community.

Leased it from Lexus of Ann Arbor, Michigan. What helped me was that I got a competing Lexus dealer first to offer it at $32,066. I got this on paper, and shopped around. I would hurry, because the residual dropped from 59% to 58% from March 31 to it's current value now. This little drop made a big difference in monthly payment. You would think it wouldn't, but it did. Good luck!

"Play around with them a little, spend some time, and never show them that they're the only dealership that you can buy from"...Anyway, there are three Lexus dealerships around my area, so I use one as a "walk away" location, and I called around, also I went online to get quotes, and showed them that I've had been shopping around and try to pick out the one that offers me the best price, at the meantime, I told them that I was looking for other brands too. Luckily, I ran into one that offers me a very close price to invoice within 1,500, I then knew that this is a good deal, I told the sale person that I want to buy this car but I was still shopping around, so she dropped it down to the actual final price at 35,815 fully loaded except Radar Dynamic Cruise Control(msrp 39,900, invoice 35,315)...Game over...The magic word that I used was "shop around"...hahaha
Hey man go out there and play with them be patient and I'm sure you can do the same thing too....(This forum help save me so much money, "thank you" everyone for sharing info that help me)....Good luck and have fun......
