Thanks to all for the info posted in this message board, it was a HUGE help and I’m glad I stumbled across it. My wife was looking at an IS 250 AWD and the 3 dealers we went to (and the 3 we called on the phone) last week all said they weren't going to budge more than a few hundred off sticker. After coming across this message board and doing some research, I think we got a pretty good deal and just purchased the new car tonight. That being said, I wanted to return the favor and if my info can help anyone else out, then good for you. Pay it Forward, you know :o) We got an IS 250, AWD, Nav, Luxury Package, Black on Black. Last week, right out of the gate, the Schaumburg Lexus internet manager offered $2000+ off and said he'd come down more if we came in. Then after some further research, we determined we'd offer $36,500 for the car. Naperville Lexus (where we wanted to buy it because it is 10 min from our house) said he wasn't going to meet our price and said to buy it elsewhere if we were going to get that great of a deal. Didn’t even want to counter offer. I don’t think he thought we were serious. Then we called McGrath Lexus in Westmont and took our price to the sales manager there (not the salesperson we talked to last week when we were there). He countered with $36,878 and he said he couldn't do any less than that. Plus he had the car on the lot. From reviewing the posts on this board, I think we did pretty good, but it was still feel like we got screwed. McGrath was the most aggressive in trying to meet our price. The sales manager was great to work and the Delivery Assistant who showed us how to use all the features was tremendous. Sticker Price: $39,919 Purchase Price: $36,878 Invoice Price: $35,378 (Edmunds showed a lower invoice price, but we called 2 dealers and both gave us this amount as the actual invoice) Net/net $3041 off of sticker ($1500 over invoice). Good luck and hope this helps...

They currently have 2 in stock a white one and a black one. Not sure of the options, but the GM is willing to deal due to the timing. This shocked me due to the unavailability of the 350s on the east coast. If you are looking for a 350 it would be worth a phone call. As far as the car. I came from an audi TT so the handling is marginal at best, but the engine is so sweet.. The bluetooth works flawlessly and the NAV is one of the best. I love the looks of the car, and chose it over the 330. Very smooth and just oozes quality. Jeff |

How's it going all? I live in the Los Angeles area and I am looking to purchase an IS in the next month. I was deciding on whether or not to get the 250 or 350 and I was hoping that some of you who already have the car could help me out. I tried to test drive the 350 at one dealership, but the salesman passed me off as a college kid. I've done pretty well for myself in the mortgage business, and I'm probably going to buy the car with cash, but I wanted to know if it was possible to get a decent rate on the 350's. If I'm going to get bilked, I'll just settle for the 250. Thanks for your help, and any comments or suggestions on how to negotiate with the dealers would be greatly appreciated! John |

Picked up an IS250 recently, thought I'd share some info hoping it may benefit someone. I was looking at the Nav/PremiumPack/18in wheels (36500 MSRP). No financing/no trade/End of the Month/Only Cars on the lot. Lexus Mission Viejo and Tustin Lexus (or is it Newport Beach Lexus?) both said they'd sell for 3000 off MSRP (selling price of 33500). Lexus Carlsbad didn't seem at all interested. Kearny Mesa Lexus in San Diego said they'd do it for 33800 and guarantee in writing a free sirius receiver + install + 9 mnths free service as soon as they become available (summer). I purchased in San Diego because of the price+sirius, they were extremely up front and professional with me, as well it was close to my house. Seems most places have plenty of the IS250s in stock now around San Diego/ Orange County and they're willing to deal if you shop around and are prepared to walk out of a few deals first

Hi, I have read thru this particular forum, as I plan on purchasing an IS250 the end of June (end of the quarter). What I am a bit unclear on is the process with which you deal with the internet manager; do you first ask for an on line quote, or just call several dealerships and ask for that individual? Also, I assume I should have the specific car (options, accessories, colors, etc) spec'ed out with MSRP and invoice pricing...... What next? Thanks, Allen

Once you do that, THEY start getting seriously competitive. He, the internet manager, will call YOU, if he is serious about selling. Have your car together, when you DO so choose to contact them. I am dealing with dealerships in Plano, TX, Houston, TX, New Orleans, LA; Shreveport, LA; Atlanta, GA; and Baton Rouge, LA. Let me know how YOU turn out. I love this forum action.

OK,... What is THE "Low-Ball" price that you people are seeing for the 350 with LT & VN packaging? I am getting a feedback of 41,335. Is THIS about right? I think that the dealers SHOULD be paying VERY close to THIS forum.

Replying to: jimcarrell (Apr 02, 2006 4:32 pm) Ok, so you really must have the optional equipment chosen, even though they have cars on the lot that come close, but perhaps not have everything I want (or perhaps more than I want)? For instance, I would like Nav, but its not a deal-breaker - how do you deal with this? Allen |
