I stopped into the Greenwich CT dealer a few weeks ago and test drove the IS250 AWD. My only complaint was relatively lack of power for a sports sedan, especially acceleration from a stop. So it occurred to me that I may prefer the IS250 RWD. No AWD = less weight. Less weight = more power and better fuel efficiency. No AWD also = less expensive car = lower monthly payment. Buy a set of winter tires for a fraction of the cost of AWD and do the tire changeover thing twice per year. The salesman was bewildered by what I had in mind. He said, um, we basically only get this car in AWD because that is the way our customers want it. It was then I realized for sure that I had left the BMW dealership and entered a Lexus dealership. The Lexus salesman could not relate to the sports sedan mentality of preferring RWD. I didn't push it. I figure if I really want this car they could do a swap with a warm weather dealer. Ordering a car seemed to be a totally foreign concept to the Lexus salesman. Another big difference from BMW. |

I live in NYC. I didn't want to get AWD but I guess that was not an option for people in NY and if I didn't wanna wait couple months. Anyway, I got OTD of 37200. Was it a good deal? It showed it was -$800 invoice.

Just wondering if anyone knows what 06 250 AWD's are going for at auctions around the country. I know a couple used ones I'm looking at came from there and want to put in a fair offer and surely don't want to pay a lot more than I should. (which I've done in the past!) Thank you in advance for the help. |

| I am trying to purchase this car for 32,000 in NY. Does this sound like a good deal? I am just getting the base model as this seems enough for me. | |
