Hi, just moved to NC. Met with Lexus yesterday and I like the lexus is 250...having a hard time deciding between the manual and the automatic...but was willing to put a deposit down of $500 so they could bring in the manual from TN. They said the $500 was refundable and I could change my mind to the automatic if I wanted. However, they did complete a motor vehicle puchase agreement... I want the starlight pearl with black interior with the premium package. They said it would take three months to order from the factory and asked if I would accept the car and let them install the wood trim and heated seats there, I just would not get the ventilated seats. They wrote on the purchase agreement that their cost for the wood trim was 600 and for the heated seats 799. So, already I just realized that this exceeds the 1290 they quoted for the premium package if I ordered from the factory, but I guess since they said they are throwing that in....I should not worry much. So, based on the manual they tell me the actual selling price for me is $31,259. and there is a tax charge of 937.00 a license fee of 124.00 and a documentation fee of 425.00 - taking the car total on a manual to $32,744.77. Is this a bad deal? They told me if they did this with an automatic...the OTD would be $35,000. Appreciate any advice... |

Thanks to all the peeps for detailing their deals so its my responsibility to list my deal for others to see. I got a bang up deal on a No Nav, basic package SGM w/ black interior 2008 IS350 at Tustin Lexus (Tustin, CA) on 11/10. My options were: o Premium Pkg o HD HID headlamps o FT 18" wheels o Z2 Pref Accessory pkg (mats, net, bumper applque...) o XM rado o rear spoiler MSRP was $40-41k and change. Purchase price was $39000 OTD (8.25% tax rate) or about $100 below KBB.com invoice. I live in San Francisco Bay Area but was at Dizzyland w/ the family, so I emailed local dealers and told them make me a deal before I fly back home. My intial goal was $1k above invoice based on past posts on this forum. I visited Westminister and Longo Lexus (El Monte). Longo had the car I wanted at $39400 OTD minus the XM and rear spoiler. At the last minute I decided to call a dealer w/in 30 minutes from home. I called an internet manager and she said they would match Longo (w/ same options) at $39500 OTD so I decided to fly back and pickup the car. A diff of $100 wasn't worth having to drive 300+ miles back to N. Cal. Long story short, Tustin called late Saturday and said they would beat the deal and throw in the 2 options (spoiler and xm radio). Factors that helped: my credit rating is in the highest teir, I agree to give 100% customer satisfaction feedback, 50% downpayment in cash, and I financed w/ the dealer. Factors that may have affected the deal: Nov is a short sales month due to holidays and dealer had excess inventory. In the prior month I tried to get local dealers to try to touch $1k above invoice. Best deal was $2k below msrp. Sacramento Lexus was an appalling $1k below MSRP!

Hi, I'm from bay area california and I would like to share my awesome deal buying my IS 350. Sticker price was 42,045 and I told them I want spoiler the dealer agreed to include the spoiler for 180 bucks more!! MSRP with spoiler was actually 42,405. And I bargained until 36,600+ tax. So OTD I paid 40000 even, that's like what..almost 6000 off from sticker!! anyway, i bought this in June 2007, so it's a 2007 model. hey guys, we are lucky to like a lexus, coz the prices can be pulled down a lot!! use your negotiating skills and be patient. I love my IS 350 so much, the nav is great, premium package is enough for me, and the spoiler looks cool isnt it? =) |
