Two Dealers, Same Owner - Not Willing to Deal by xchicagoan5

I went to my local Lexus dealer, Lexus of Nashville. The same family owns both dealerships here in town. We had been dealing with the internet sales guy by phone and email. I told him about the deals I had seen around the US and laid the numbers on him. He told us right away that he couldn't sell us a car at or below invoice. He said he wanted us to make an offer $500 or $1000 above invoice because they don't sell cars for under invoice. He said if we wanted to buy the car from somewhere else that we were more than welcome to do so. I told him travel to get the car wouldn't be a big deal because I travel all the time anyway. He reiterated his position. I said thank you, shook his hand, and we left. My wife said to me as we were walking out, "you knew they were going to be like that". I told her that I needed to remind myself that we don't have to do business with them. We then went next door to the Acura dealer, and I got a call no less than 5 minutes later. It was them, willing to sell the car at invoice. I am going to continue to shop. I don't have to do business with them.

In the market for a new lease. Bmw lease is up end of January. Just saw the IS250 AWD and love it! Anyone have any idea where I should begin with negotiating base price. Looking for premium pkg, 17inch wheels, no NAV, heated seats. Also salesman wouldn't give me the money factor, stated we can work the numbers (HAHA). Also said Lexus does not have any special lease programs (true/false?)and that they do not have maintenance program like BMW. Said BMW is phasing it out (hard to believe) and that Lexus owners find they pay less in maintenance than BMW owners. I've had 2 BMW's(never paid a dime in maintenance fees). Please help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I hate car shopping, and want to learn as much as I can.
By the way, I'm in the Balto. Washington Metro area. Only 2 Lexus dealers nearby.

1) BMW is not phasing out the maintenance program (Audi is).

2) Not sure how you can pay less than zero in maintenance costs?

I'll let others guide you on Lexus prices, though.. Good luck!

Wood Trim by zeong

I don't like the wood trim at all, and I cannot find any in stock IS250 without it in my Texas Area unless I pay in full MSRP for special order.

Anyone got it without the wood trim? Thanks

Can you share your sale price before TTL? Since tax rates and fees differ around the US, knowing the sales price would be helpful for negotiations. Most of the dealers I am talking to have sold out of non-navi cars and have nothing but navi left. I live in TN and we pay 9.25% sales tax on all purchases. yes, it is high, but we have no state income tax and we can right sales tax off on our federal tax return each year thanks to Bill Frist, before he left Congress.

Hello. I got a quote of 38K (before TTL) for IS350 w/Nav, HID, 18" wheels and perforated heated seats. Can anyone tell me if this is a good deal? Thank you.

What are you talking about? There are 7 dealers within 40 miles of Washington, DC.

maybe I am wrong. We all want to save money. But why does the public think that a car price is the invoice price?

Sorry, I guess I should have said the Baltimore Area. Lexus of Towson and Len Stoler. Towson is the closest. I really don't want to drive 40 miles to buy a car.
Thanks
