Have you tried giving your dealer the following information? My dealer could not fix the problem until I gave him this... then the top was corrected and I only have rattles when the weather is freezing. Once the car warms up there are no rattles.
The following info was taken from page 26 off this forum:
Here is your solution if you top rattles over bumpy roads
Part#'s 25898407 and 15815546 they need to order 2 of each.
These are two new rubber sleeves that install on the two pins located on the rear top half. They mate with two reciever block that will need to be adjusted to the rearward most position.
Also if you hear a creak it may be coming from the two rubber seals in the doo jam rubbing. apply some Dielectric grease and it stops.

When I checked your posts in our admin tool, which lists posts chronologically from top to bottom, for whatever reason your April 26 post came up at the bottom, so all I saw was your post from today, then a gap of a few years. Don't know what is wonky in our system, but sorry that I missed that you HAD, in fact, posted recently.
#809 of 869 TIRED, DISSATISFIED AND SEEKING RELIEF FROM PONTIAC AND GM

So it has been awhile since I have posted but want to let you know that I am still having issues and am so totally dissatisfied with Pontiac and GM.
So if someone from Pontiac monitors this board, you really need to get ahold of me. It is an every 6 month issue including the research that I have paid for personally at GM/Pontiac's direction and I am still the one holding the bag sort of speak with a car that is now getting ready to need its 3rd set of tires, its at least fourth set of brakes, an oil pan leak and manifold that was leaking. On top of 5 years of frustration, hours upon hours of discussion with Specialists at Pontiac to go no where. Have over 40 pages of information about repairs done to this car from the time I purchased 5 years ago and the issues were documented the day that I pulled this 'new' car off the lot.

I purchased my 2007 Pontiac G6 GT Convertible about 10 days ago. I have been experiencing the same rattling others mention. Initially I thought the noise came from the passenger door. The dealer disassembled the door, tightened all screws inside and stated the rattling should be gone. Unfortunately, no matter if the roof is up or down the rattling continues. I'll take the instructions for the rubber sleeves with me to the dealership and hope this will resolve the problem. Does anyone know what the approximate cost is for this repair? My car still has the 30 day CARMAX warranty, however I don't know if that includes this type of repair. Thanks!
#811 of 869 2007 Pontiac G6 GT Convertible - radio power know worn!
Jul 12, 2012 (8:11 am)
I recently purchased this vehicle from a used car dealership, and I noticed that the radio power/volume knob is very worn. (That is the black/transparent knob, with a circle-like arrow on it, left side on the radio.) Any ideas where I can find a replacement? I already checked junk yards, Ebay etc, but have been unable to find this particular knob. Thank you!

Good afternoon mich0324,
Is your dealership one of our GM dealerships , or is it independently operated? Let us know if we can look into anything further for you.

Good afternoon Sarah,
I purchased the 2007 Pontiac G6 Convertible as a pre-owned vehicle from CARMAX in Kennesaw, GA. I am taking the vehicle back there tomorrow for repair of the "rattling noise" coming from the roof/door. Their service department said, they would look at it and repair free of charge. I hope the information I found in this thread are sufficient for the dealership to locate the problem. Any additional info is greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I hope that everything goes well today at your service department! Unfortunately, I don't have any technical information to pass along to help in the repair process.
All the best and have a great weekend,

We've had our G6 for just over two years and it's had a rattle in what we thought was the convertible top. In fact, the local GM dealer looked at it and said that they could not find anything wrong with the top. We love the car and so we decided to try again and this time the dealer found a right rear bad strut. We see if this corrects the problem as the noise does sound like it coming from the top.
A couple of other issues to note are that the resonator was causing a whine/ whittle sound whenever we accelerated plus the oil pan gasket is leaking. All this and the 2007 G6 only has ~27K miles.
