Although this is a very minor problem, I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen. The nuts that retain the spoiler to the trunk lid keep backing off. The nuts get lost in the area between the inner and outer skins of the trunk lid, so I have to replace one or two each time. I have even used lock washers to no avail. This time, after I replaced them, I coated the protruding threads with a heavy-duty caulking. ( I didn't want to use "Loctite" in case the spoiler ever needed to be removed) I imagine that if the spoiler is loose on the trunk lid, water can get into the trunk during rain or a carwash......or even get that black trunk lid liner moldy.

Hmmmm ...... Nobody is commenting lately. Does that mean that there's nothing new to discuss? Or possibly that people have vented their frustrations and have moved on with their lives? Whatever the reason, here in N.J. the weather is getting colder and with few exceptions, the convertible days have ended for now. I, for one, am sure going to miss the weekend drives that my wife and I took this summer and fall. Best wishes to all of you for the upcoming holiday season. |
