your point about the sun visor directly relates to GM's attitude.
And the reason why GM's sales dropped 21% .
GM just cannot figure it out--Toyota up 11% Nissan up 23%--the people are voting with their pocketbooks.
The GM models keep coming up a day late and a dollar short--whether its 4 speed At or lack of 6 Speed, sun visors or good stereos, shaky mirrors or a lot of rattles in car.
But what the Heck--GM 50 years ago had over 50% of the market.
Pontiac 50 years ago had the rep inside GM of being advanced performance technology--thats sadly no longer true.
My 64 Goat performed much better than my 2007 G6 in many ways--Its basic transportation, but sadly, not even economical high MPG transportation (my 99 vetter gets better mileage

Thanks for the info. That mileage sounds about right. Is that a mix of highway/city. I do a mix of about 50/50. Had a Grand Prix Supercharged and got about 23 mpg average so it sounds like this G6 with the V6 will be close to that.
I think the visor thing might be due to the convertible factor. I'm 6'4" and feel pretty comfortable in the G6 HTC. I drove another yesterday that had no shimmy or noticeable wheel shake between 60-70. Think I'm going to get it!
#386 of 854 G6 Convertible Door Rattle

I have 2,500 miles on my 3900 G6 convertible. I had an annoying rattle in the left door only when the top was down. The dealer's technician who test road with me said there was also a lesser rattle in the right door. He had seen this once before and determined that the striker pin on each door did not have sufficient spring pressure to hold the door tightly in place when closed. The rattle reminded me of my old 1956 oldsmobile that did not have a center post. The windows would rattle when they were down. Unfortunately this is structural on the G6. When the top is up there is enough added support from the closed window that the rattle goes away. He ordered a set of new pins. It took about 30 minutes to install them, and my rattles are 95% gone. They are still there on severe bumps, but they are acceptable now. After all it is a convertible and I don't expect it to drive like my 2006 STS Cadillac (which has sat in the garage while I drive my G6 everywhere). It is a super fun car to own!!

Well, decided to take the plunge and leased a G6 HTC (3.5 engine). Did a 3 year lease since I thought that was the safer way to go on this. Picked it up a few days ago. Really like it so far. There are a few little rattles with the top down, but nothing terrible right now. No shimmy at 60 -70 on this one I found. Built in mid June 2007. Got the blue-gold color which is pretty nice on this car with the two-tone leather inside.
How do you keep the back seat belts from flapping around when the top is down? I may cable tie them together or something. Hehe!

I'm looking into leasing and can anyone tell me what incentives are going on in my area (Indiana) and what is a good deal. I was told I would get the supplier discount but the dealer quoted me over the phone a 39 month lease, 12,000 miles a year for $411.21, seems awfully HIGH to me. Not sure if they're even coming down on the cost of the car what should I do. I was told that today was the last day for rebates which I think is $1000.00

Check out the weird plastic structure that's mounted between the seat-backs in the back. There's a spot to slip in each belt and another holster for each belt buckle - works great!
------
As for the $411/mo deal, from what I've seen on the site it's in the ball park. I'm at $392/mo on a 39 mo 10K/yr lease with an employee discount. I've only seen one deal on the site that's seemed substantially better - I can't remember the exact terms.
#390 of 854 Lease pricing....
by rad1701

My lease (that just started last week) is for 36 months at 15K miles per year for $390 per month. This is the GM employee type pricing since my brother in law works for GM. This also included the $2000 in rebates they had going until July 9th. It is a bit high for a lease I thought, but I just wasn't up to buying one. However, the car is a lot of fun so far and I love it.
P.S. I did figure out the seat belt thing in the back. Thanks.

rad--what was the sticker on the car--around 32K?
With employee pricing and rebates and zero financing, how much would the purchase be with no money out of pocket?
when i bought the lease would have been 417 and I purchased it with zero financing for 760 a month for 3 years--I figure that gives me a residual breakeven at around 13k. And they were figuring 17.5k for the lease.

My car's sticker was about 31,500. I think I had them run the 3 year, 0% finance deal (keep in mind you lose half of the rebates when you pick 0% financing), but I don't recall the exact number.
Oh, I should of said I did pay about $650 at the lease signing for the usually fees, transfer, and first month lease payment.

i own a pontiac g6 HTC. and it is adorable but thats the only thing good with it. It has been in the shop 5 times. I bought a new car because i dont have time to be at the dealership fixing anything. I have always had new cars. This is my second car. I am 20 and i am so disappointed. I went from a yukon denali to a g6 HTC and i want to kill myself. It works when it wants to. I didnt not have the car the entire month of may and because i am 20 i could not drive a loaner car from the dealership so i had to give my mother the loander and driver her car. Problems Problems. the top is still not fixed. GM paid my car payment for may and gave me 24 months of free oil changes and tire rotations..which is longer then my lease( which is 307.10 a month for 27 months and 12000 miles) **anyone paying over that is paying too much..**
i have filed suit with 1800 lemon law. they have been great they said GM knows about all these problems. and i am not the only one.. BE CAREFUL IF YOU BUY..
i already have a cash deal offered from gm.1800 lemon law is trying to get them to buy it back. and i will be returned all money i have paid for it which is what i want.
Good luck g6 HTC Drivers.. CaLL pontiac if your unhappy. they want to make you happy.
