My husband called this morning to see if my buyout has gotten any better. It was the same deal $28,800. They would not negotiate. He told him we could pay cash or finance--if one or the other options would make the deal better -- it didn't.
We will call back after Nov 1st to check one last time, but it looks like I will be getting a different car b/c I am not going to pay more than what other local non MB dealers have them listed for around here. Also, got rough quote of $700 on 2009 lease, while I could afford that much of a payment I just don't think its wise -- I've been listening to Dave Ramsey too much lately.

i agree. they must not have the auction data...the decision needs to be made higher up internally to price them just over wholesale. An MB dealer certainly wouldnt take it from MBFinance for $28k to resell when the dealer could get one at auction for $22-25k. And MBF hsa to know at a higher level internally that it has NOT chance of fetching even close $28k at auction....Give it a little time....Im going to push hard when i call and get past the leasing rep if need be to someone higher up.

Buyout interest rate by shorebound

I've called a couple of times and they quoted a 6.99% interest rate. Anyone getting anything different? I think by the end of the month the dramatic drop-off in sales will motivate them.

Anyone attempted to continue their lease or renegotiate payments based on residuals?

What are some of the "typical" offers on the '08 and '09 R350's? My lease is due Nov 18th. Wouldn't mind holding on to the car, but also would obv roll into a new one if the deal is good. Current lease payment on 06 R350 P1 pkg is $595/mo incl tax (PA) 10k annual miles (slightly over there).

Any recent experience?

New Purchase by mersee

As a comparison to using auction results to negotiate lease buyouts, I just bought an 08 R350 4M from a NJ auction. It was a MB executive lease return. It has only 3,800 miles, P2 package, no panoramic roof, showroom condition, and paid $31, 250. Good deal?

i would say yes. ill get updated auction #s on '06s this week and post them. that price would put clean low mileage '06 350s in the mid to high 20s...

I went there with the intention of purchasing a low mileage 06, and from what I remember, they were going from $19K-$23K with miles ranging from 30K to 16K respectively. It was a good day for buyers generally.

2008 R Class money factor by mjf415

A dealer today in CT told me the interest rates to lease an '08 R350s was 9% while the rates on an '09 are ~ 4.5%. I'm looking for an '08 and the associated $9,000 dealer incentives but if the interest rates through Mercedes Benz really are that high I may reevaluate. Can anyone confirm this info? By the way, my R500 is coming off lease next month and they quoted me a buyout of $28,100 with 22,000 miles. If I extend the lease for another year they want to RAISE my payment from a little over $600 to $697. Thanks for any help you can offer.

Mfj415, my R500 is comming off lease soon. Residual is $40k. Did you get your buyout quote from the dealer of MB finance? I would pay $30K for mine. 20k miles, NAV MSRP was 63k(we had cap cost of $48k). I don't know best rout. JUST baught my 06' A8L from dealer and Audi finance would not budge! This was before market crash though.
