Medphreak,

I'm not sure what this dealer is doing. They are clearly trying to take advantage of you. I live in Ann Arbor, MI. I recently went in shopping for a R350 or E350..ended up buying E-class. But for the R-class....they took $10,000 of MSRP literally before I even sat down to talk numbers. Once I sat down, they took $11,500 of MSRP. There is a $6000 REBATE from mercedes alone. this dealer is trying to sell you the car, at FULL MSRP...and only deducting from the rebate.

clearly they are trying to rip you off. Plz dont take it the wrong way, dont settle for anything less than 10k off msrp. Tho i think 11k is common these days on an R350.

If they insisit they can't go lower, just walk away, because this is bad deal.

My R500 lease expires in September. Has anyone inquired about renewing their lease?

Let me guess: Tysinger Motors? I tried to buy one of their R350s--after telling them I knew about the $6k factory-to-dealer and special financing, they offered me $3k off MSRP and jacked up the rate by 1%. If/when I buy elsewhere, I'll let them service it for me because they're convenient...They'll make some of the money back on their $122 oil changes.

Does anyone know if the $6,000 in trunk money that MB is offering on the R class applies to leases or just a purchase?

Thanks!

I just leased an R350 and was told that the $6k could only be used on a purchase (and could not be combined with any special financing deals). There was $2k in lease money available - not sure if that is still in effect. I ended up doing the deal at $2K under invoice, and probably left some money on the table.

MSRP 53k Price 47k MF .00075 Res 56% 10k yr 33mo by shanchen72

NY Dealer

MSRP about 53k
Price 47k
MF .00075
Res 56% for 10k/yr 33mo.

Monthly $585

Decent deal?

Also got offered $29,960 buy out price on my current 06 R350

MSRP 56k-ish
Price 49k-ish
Paid 25 payments of $515 each
18k miles

They have a $12k reduction on current buy-out (residual) prices. Call MB financial if you are in the same position as me having lease maturing in several months.

Don't know which is a better deal. I like the 08 for the auto folding mirror auto dimming mirror rearview camera and new 19" wheels and fog light etc.

They somehow did make it flimsy looking by removing the woodtrim on the center console facing the second row.

Did Aug 08 lease deals come out yet?

Comments anyone?

600th post!

about 3k due at signing. About 1900 is NY sales tax which you have to pay upfront. First month lease, fees etc.

The value leftover for my current R is abysmal definitely less than 29k

It's a great time to buy a used R now.

BTW Does anyone know the current (today might be the last day) 3-mo payment promotion? How does it work? I have two payments left the dealer just told me that they will waive those which I don't think is much of a promotion at all.
