They are-just traded my 2006 r 350 for a 2008 r 350
my lease was scheduled to run out in Oct and the dealership called about a 3 month loyalty on the E class and then stated it was also valid on the r class--a good deal all in all-will have to pay overage in miles-did not want to roll them into a new lease

Just picked up an 08 R350 4matic (MSRP of $56210) for $659 p/month for 33 months including NJ sales tax (7%) with no money at out pocket and the first payment paid by the dealer (Not a penny due at inception!!). I think I did ok?

Thoughts?

bknyc,
do you have more info like the money factor, miles per year, and the negotiated amount paid for the car?

Hello all -

First, thank you for all of your contributions to this forum. I have gained tons of knowledge here.....just enough to be dangerous, I guess.

After a few months of researching, I finally decided the time was right to get into an r350. Especially since the dealer stocks of 08 models are getting thin in some colors. Also, some of the deals people have been posting for purchases and leases have been great.

I am looking at an R350 4matic with P2, ipod, 7 seat, 6cd and heated seats with an MSRP of about 56.5K. I am interested in leasing primarily.

My local dealer proposed the following lease:

33 months/15K miles
$53988 gross cap cost (TTL, 3% Virginia tax)
0.00110 money factor
53% residual
First month payment on delivery
$829 / month

This is a far cry from the deals elsewhere on the forum....what am I missing and where am I getting screwed?? What can I reasonably demand in the current market??

I had anticipated a target cap cost (car only) of about MSRP-10K and having the lease calculated using the MB financial numbers of (24 Month – Residual 58% of MSRP – .00075 Base Rate)

Thank you very much for any and all help.

Don

medphreak,

the main reason why the payment is high is because of the 53% residual. when i got my r350 in december, the residual was 61%. therefore the 8% diff in depreciation during the lease period is huge. with the price of gas, no one wants to get a SUV, thus dropping the value. not to make you feel bad, but my lease is 33 months, 12k, for $455/mo with 9% tax included, for an 08 R350 with P1, heated front seats, Ipod and 7th seat.. nothing down except 1st payment and the acquisition fee was rolled into my payment.

Vow, thats a really great deal if you got for $455/mon. I got mine with the P2 pkg and other regular stuff at $597/month including VA tax. Nothing down except the first month + $450 for processing etc.

$829 is crazy!!! I just got the same exact car (2 weeks ago) for $659 p/month including NJ sales tax of 7% and zero (0) money due at delivery plus the dealer made the 1st payment! The only difference I can see is I have 12k miles per year. This dealer is taking you for a ride. Find another MB dealer!
