Regardless of the merits of the Solstice, especially the subjective "image" factor that you are stuck on, there are some people - make that several tens of millions of people - who wouldn't buy a Pontiac if their only alternative were a bicycle. Look, I actually hope that the Solstice is a success. But I'm not out there buying GM stock just yet. GM is the worst performinag major car company in the world, and Pontiac is it's worst division. That's due in large part to their having perfected poor build quality, poor reliability and poor resale values over several decades. If you want to claim there is no argument about something, start with that. |

| its lack of true driving excitement (read quality of driver's feel & control) just won't cut it. After all, neither of them is a drag racer, so sideway fun is what counts! & again, none of them is a Formula One, so it's for drifting at relatively safe low speeds & not the max lateral g-force. | |

GM is the worst performinag major car company in the world, and Pontiac is it's worst division. I think you may be correct.... We may never get the chance to compare the long term reliability and sales record of the Solstice...Unless something really spectacular happens, Pontiac is gone within 5 years. |

Unless something really spectacular happens, Pontiac is gone within 5 years. Pontiac will have a new rwd coupe by 2009/2010. GM confirmed it last month. They would be wise to use styling from the sexy Solstice with the new coupe.

B- The MX5 deserved its merit in the 80s, and since then has not come into any considerable engineering changes, with the exception of minor HP. All MX5 fans always wanted to see a rotary engine in that platform. C- The solstice is undeniably a tribute to aesthetics, the time to production crunch leaves a lot of room for error and fine tuning. I would highly recommend waiting for newer revisions of this vehicle where the bugs have been resolved. There are clear indicators that simple improvements on performance can be achieved based on displacement to HP ratio. D- CONCLUSION DESIGN IS WORLD CLASS, FIT&FINISH AS WELL AS MATERIALS ARE PREMIUM, SUSPENSION & BRAKES ARE APPROPRIATE FOR HIGH PERFORMANCE, YET ENGINE, ELECTRONICS, AND FINE TUNING OF THIS VEHICLE HAVE A LARGE RANGE FOR IMPROVEMENT. I SUGGEST WAITING FOR THE 2007 SOLSTICE
