did the dealer fix all under warranty?

if they couldnt adjust the door gap...I would say find another dealer....what we are finding is poor uninformed service departments....vice GM issues.....

care to be more specific....oil leak or differential leak...
top failed to secure in back..not quite sure what you mean
squeak in dash..from where
gap..can be repaired or cant be adjusted?

creative packing is not much of an issue in the MX-5 as it is in the Solstice. There is a decent amount of space in the MX-5 trunk.

Miata vs. Solstice? Just look around: the Solstice is in short supply, being sold for sticker or (more often) $1500 over sticker. That's assuming a dealer even has one. I can walk to any Mazda dealer and get a Miata in 5 minutes, and probably deal on it too......on the other hand, it is clear that GM can produce many thousands more Solstices than it is making now. The co. does not, b/c this is its status car. GM, crank out more Solstices!!

I guess it depends on where you live. The Pontiac dealer down the street from me has had the same 3 Solstices out front for 2 months now with "Save Thousands!" written on a tag hanging in the window. One is red, one is bright yellow and the other silver.

If you are in the North East, you can pretty much get a deal on any rear drive car this time of year, except the Shelby GT500.

Thats hilarious....come up here to New England and you can find any color solstice you want instock for immediate delivery. You can also get the car for invoice without much effort.

Guess the bloom is off the rose already...how about the fools that paid MSRP or more!!...

having called a few dealers in the NE....CON, MASS, RI...I havent found a dealer yet with one not dealing at MSRP....if you have a specific dealer with Sols in stock that will deal at MSRP or lower.....pls email me.....and I will forward to several folks who would make the trip......and deal.......

same old issues we have heard about since it first hit the market..no storage, dont like the top operation, plastic interior...noise.......we have heard this over and over again...and its still out selling the MX-5 here in the US on a monthly basis....this car isnt meant to be a daily driver....for 90% of the owners..its a 2d or 3rd car...and I would be the same holds true for the miata

if you have owned one, driven one for an extended period of time......well, ours is over a year old now...21K on it..and still love the car......enough said....

everyone has their choice in autos...yours is apparently BMWs....I like the brand and quality...but hate the scheduled maintenance costs.....to properly maintain them

But their resale values are lower and that will have an effect on TCO no matter how many cars you have.

See my profile - I own a 2003 BMW 530i and a 2006 MX-5 GT.

that assumes you buy a car for resale factor...and I honestly dont beleive most car buyers do that today..most go to the lot..pick out the model and color they like...and go from there......Im one who drives them till I honestly dont want to put any more money into them for repairs.....96 Bronco with 169K still going...04 Malibu Maxx with 85K, 03 Kia Sorento with 82K..and the 06 Solstice with 21K....and all paid for.....

resale was shown for this one edmunds article....C&D or MT did a long term estimate for resale and showed it to be one of the top five vehicles....but again..I dont put much faith in any auto mag..or Consumer Reports for other than a toaster.....

and I hope you are enjoying your MX-5 as much as we are our Sol.....we compared both, drove both and chose the Solstice.....but as you can see..its not our daily driver..rather are "FUN" car so to speak.....
