| I received my new Chevy a month ago and the only problem that I've found is that its very hard to see the needles on the gauges during the day time. Is there a way I can have the needles changed or painted white. Thanks Rich | |

...after a 2-month wait for it to be ordered from the factory. Got it with the gas 6.0L V8, extended cab, blk/blk, SLE1 with the CD changer, power rear window, towing pkg, and roof top lights. I traded in my Toyota Tacoma for this truck and after being hesitant at first I'm real glad I did. The quality of the 2500 is amazing so far - the interior is well put together with good material use and is VERY comfortable for long drives. The gas V8 has oomph, and in the first tank I averaged 15.7 MPG in about 60/40 split of city/hwy driving. Overall, this is a well oiled machine, and should be great for towing and as a daily commuter. Anyone worried about gas mileage, you'll be pleasantly surprised. The 6-speed auto has great response but is obviously tuned for good mileage. I'm definitely impressed in what GM can do when they put their minds to it. |

I have just taken delivery of a Chevy 2007 3500HD Diesel Dually LTZ. So far, I love it. With just 300 miles on it, I get 15 mpg in town and 19 on the hwy. I have noticed a really bad fault with it though, has anyone else found this? The backup ultrasonic sensor system does not give a beeping tone that increases as the distance to an object decreases. Instead, it has three lights on the passenger side of the rear window. Apparently Chevy engineers don’t know that you back up trucks like these by using the side mirrors, not by looking out of the rear window. The tailgate obscures anything behind you. I have almost hit three cars until I found out this they designed it like this. So, you must look behind you to see the backup sensor lights, this means that you can’t use the side mirrors as the same time. If they had just added a beeper to the system, it would allow the driver to back up visually using mirrors and hear the warning sensor at the same time. I am thinking of writing the NTSB to suggest that this is a definite safety hazard that must be corrected.

replace that cheap system with one that employs a color camera and monitor. Aftermarket is always better than stock. |

I'm sure a GM dealer would use it as an opportunity to deny warranty coverage as skytop1 would probably agree. A nickle here and a dime saved there might cost you more in the long run. Course as always the choice is yours. |
