Here's the money info on my ordered Denali. Options, 20 inch wheels, heated steering wheel, cargo rails, and audio system with navigation. Total price $43250. List is $46665 Traded in a 04 Sierra - 47000 miles, 4wd, extended cab, SLT, sport side bed. They gave me $19500. I guess this isn't to bad. I don't mind paying the difference and the dealer is makin some money too. Dealer is even giving me a car to drive so that the miles will be under 50 thousand on my trade. They aren't even charging me anything for the loaner. I just expected they would try to make every dollar they could. Seem like a good enough deal to me. TSully

Thinking about getting a 2007 Chevy 4wd crew cab probaby the LT2 package. I'm wondering with the 5.3L you can either get the 3:42 rear or the 3:73. Which rearend is the best ratio. I know the 4:10 are low gears and be better for pulling, but I don't tow a helluva lot. I hear the new Tundra has a 4:10 and a 4:30 those type of gears just sound too low. I was just wondering if the higher gears were better for gas mileage. Thanks for any info.

Wow I can't wait until I can actually post a review of my new Sierra Denali. I ordered one a couple of weeks ago. The dealer is letting me change things at the last minute. Anyway found out it won't arrive until end of April. This gave me some time to shop around. I did. Worked out ok for me as well. Had another dealer work me out a deal. He didn't know about the first one. Appears I was paying to much to original dealer. So I let him know. So this is what is happening now. Truck is enroute to another dealer. My dealer will do a dealer trade. Truck lists for 48470. Now since I will be purchasing before April 3 I can get some available incentives. 1000 bucks for owner loyalty, 1000 bucks for March Madness(didn't know that existed until I contacted the other dealer) and 48 month 3.9 financing. So all this worked out and I ended up with the dvd player for only 75 bucks (that extra 1000 dollar incentive paid all but 75 bucks of the dvd player). So here is what I am getting now. 2007 Sierra Denali, all wheel drive, 20 inch wheels, sunroof, heated steering, and navigation. List price of 48470 minus my trade of 19500 (04 slt extended cab 4wd, sportside bed). Then minus 2000 dollars incentives, then minus 2870 that the dealer came down. The truck costs me 24100. Starting out at 48470 and ending with 24100 looks real good to me. I can't wait until I can give a first impression! I think we all know what it will be though. See ya Troy |

I just traded in an 05 silverado with the 3.42 for an 07 1/2 ton with the 3.73 rear axle. I have 3500 miles on the 07. The gas mileage with the 3.42 was 17 overall and on highway trips approaching 20 mpg. The 07 with the 3.73 has yet to reach 16 mpg. On a highway trip, using cruise control at 70 mph in Central Minnesota (no mountains) the active fuel management (4 cylinder) mode did not ever come on. My mileage for the trip was 15.3. I like the truck but do not like the gas mileage.

Replying to: dagolfer (Mar 18, 2007 10:22 am) What engine do you have in your 07? Also, be patient, I have heard that the mileage gets better after complete break-in around 5-7K miles. I only have about 300 miles on my 07 Sierra with the 6.0 and I averaged 14.1 all city driving on my first tank. And the AFM does kick in, but only while coasting or on a flat road with no acceleration. I am not expecting AFM to have any significant impact on my overall mileage, but I don't care, I didn't buy a truck for mpg, I bought it because I need a truck. Enjoy your new truck, it is the best one out there. You made the right choice. |
