The drum brakes are antique, all the other fullsize trucks have rear disks, for the price of these trucks I expect better, The only way to get rear disks is to order the 6 liter with 4.10's! Even some of the econobox cars they build have rear wheel disks, they need to get with the program!

Not true usavet. The rear discs also come with the 3.73 rear diff. I know, I drove one. But, you do need to get the 6.0L engine. That will change, I'd bet for '08 or maybe mid-year '07. Actually, I like drums for certain applications - there is much more braking surface when using the parking brake. If I was hauling a big load and parking frequently on steep hills, the drums are actually superior. But, for braking, the ABS discs are way better.

Hi:

I did also wonder about the 10 to 12 week delivery date . However, I believe it was due to when they placed thier orders. Also my experience has been when you order a vehicle you are told at the time of order placement that it will be a little longer than they anticipate. My truck is being built starting February 16, 2007. I have a feeling I will have it by mid-March.. So 7 to 8 weeks is more like it. Maybe a little more transit time out here to San Diego, California. Anyway, just as long as I can get it and put on the break-in miles before I travel with my Airstream to Montana this summer all will be well.

Thanks

2007 Chevy Silverado (New Body Style) Wipers by rheck

Can someone tell me WHY did Chevy change the style of the arms and blades of the wipers on the 2007 new body style Silverado's?
I'm trying to find WINTER blades for it, but to no avail, I called my dealer, ANCO, TRICO, no luck.
I even thought of trying to change the arm to take winter blades, and told it couldn't be done.
ANCO told me there "working on it", possibly in a few months they'll come out with something.
Any suggestions, please reply to rheck53hotmail.com.
Thank you.

You might just have to throw some de icer windshield wiper fluid in your resivoiour for current time. I buy de-icer fluid in the can and spray bottle to spray on my windshield which helps a lot. I prespray it before I leave the parking lot and start up my car and spray some on the snow and ice 15-20 minutes before I'm ready to leave after brushing off the car.

Well hopefully you can get the wipers you want soon.

FYI,
I ordered my 2007 GMC Sierra SLT Crewcab with the 6.0L on Jan 22nd (4 weeks ago) and was just notified today (Feb 17th) that it was built yesterday and is in transit. I should have it in about 2 weeks. I live in MN, assuming it was built in Canada, not positive though.
