I just bought a 07 silver loaded, with nav system, only on disc player. You can't get the six disc changer with the nav system. It is a great truck really like it. Was going to look at the Tundra but I think they keep the secret too long, there must be some thing wrong with it. What say you.

I have driven nothing but Toyota's and Nissans for most of my life. Last year I purchased a 2006 Silverado. I'll never go back to Japanese trucks again. The overall driving experience in an American truck is superior. Every Toyota I've owned has an annoying valve clicking once the vehicle has over 50,000 miles. Not sure why but I've noticed it in every Toyota I've owned. Also the engine seems to loose power. This year I couldn't resist and went out and purchased the new 2007 Silverado. I am in heaven! No Tundra envy for me.

I owned a 2006 4.8. I liked it. I just purchased a new 2007 Silverado 5.3. I like it better. I can definitely feel the difference.

The drum brakes are antique, all the other fullsize trucks have rear disks, for the price of these trucks I expect better, The only way to get rear disks is to order the 6 liter with 4.10's! Even some of the econobox cars they build have rear wheel disks, they need to get with the program!

Not true usavet. The rear discs also come with the 3.73 rear diff. I know, I drove one. But, you do need to get the 6.0L engine. That will change, I'd bet for '08 or maybe mid-year '07. Actually, I like drums for certain applications - there is much more braking surface when using the parking brake. If I was hauling a big load and parking frequently on steep hills, the drums are actually superior. But, for braking, the ABS discs are way better.

Hi:
I did also wonder about the 10 to 12 week delivery date . However, I believe it was due to when they placed thier orders. Also my experience has been when you order a vehicle you are told at the time of order placement that it will be a little longer than they anticipate. My truck is being built starting February 16, 2007. I have a feeling I will have it by mid-March.. So 7 to 8 weeks is more like it. Maybe a little more transit time out here to San Diego, California. Anyway, just as long as I can get it and put on the break-in miles before I travel with my Airstream to Montana this summer all will be well.
Thanks
