I have been looking for a reason to get back into a GM as I grew up on them. However, due to the many quality issues I went to foreign makes and have been pretty happy. Well now that the general has come out with these two pick-ups, I really like both of them more so the GMC styling. Now that the Tundra is coming out I think that might be the better choice. I think GM's trucks stack up well with the tundra however, as with all the generals products you worry how they'll hold up after five years. Believe me I've had my share of GM cars that at some point you have to open the passenger door to get in the car because the other door doesnt'work . How do others feel about these two pick-ups (Tundra/Chevy-GMC) Do you trust GM's quality now? Replying to: sky33 (Jan 23, 2007 12:42 pm) I've had my 2007 Silverado Ext Cab Z-71 for two weeks now and i'm totally impressed with it. This will be my 10th Chevy pickup and other then some very minor issues that were covered by the warranty these trucks are worth the investment. My past trucks were used for Search and Rescue work hauling both team members and equipment into the "back 40" and there was never an issue. The trucks did their job. That is a big selling feature with me.

Replying to: dagolfer (Jan 21, 2007 3:11 pm) I have a 2000 Sierra with the 5.3 and made a trip from Oregon to Denver and back during the holidays. I got 20 mpg overall. I get about 17-18 mpg in normal mixed driving around here. I am very pleased. The truck has been trouble free except for that rear spring slap some Sierra/Silverados get. I was told I could spend $100 to have some lubricant applied which may be of some benefit but since it only happens on really rough roads I haven't done anything about it.

Hi.... I am in the process of ordering a new 2007 1500 GMC Sierra. I was going to upgrade the exhaust system to a Cat-Back touring version. Supposedly it has throaty purr. Is this true, does anyone know what it sounds like, and does any one have this system? I don’t want an extremely loud system, but something that makes a nice sound.

Is their a 6 disc changer if i am using the nanigation system along with the rear enteratainment and if so how does it work with the music and all that... i want to purchase one but just need minor spec help i read it has a six disc but anohter website said that only one into the machine then anohter for the gps map system...i am just so lost Replies to this message: flounder2 (Feb 05, 2007 7:18 pm)

It is a great truck really like it. Was going to look at the Tundra but I think they keep the secret too long, there must be some thing wrong with it. What say you.   Pete

Replying to: sky33 (Jan 23, 2007 12:42 pm) I have driven nothing but Toyota's and Nissans for most of my life. Last year I purchased a 2006 Silverado. I'll never go back to Japanese trucks again. The overall driving experience in an American truck is superior. Every Toyota I've owned has an annoying valve clicking once the vehicle has over 50,000 miles. Not sure why but I've noticed it in every Toyota I've owned. Also the engine seems to loose power. This year I couldn't resist and went out and purchased the new 2007 Silverado. I am in heaven!
