More info about item #10: Battery volt gauge -- It's accurate. GM is using a newer type of alternator and/or voltage regulator! .. It does have random output voltage ... AND sometimes it will turn OFF the alternator output voltage totally if it senses that the battery is fully charged. .. At those times you are running on battery power only .. Why?? .. less load on the engine .. More fuel mileage!!
---

More about fuel mileage .. With the DIC turned to instant fuel mileage .. watch the readout when the AC is cycled ON then OFF. .. It uses a lot more HP than you think!
---

Item #9: The heart of the new V8/V4 system is the lifters! .. For future performance & long engine life there is nothing more important than changing your oil!
---

Item #4: Power rear door .. IMHO it's great!
---

Item #6: For larger items .. I have been using various size trailers & types for years! .. It saves a lot of wear & tear from being put on your vehicle.
---

Item #4: IMO .. it's better to have a larger seat motors than ones that are too small that could burn or wear out premature.
---

FYI .. I did not order the NAV, rear camera, & 3rd seats.
.. BUT .. the XM SAT radio & with Bose speakers and with the steering wheel controls IS .. The best GM sound system that I ever had!!

And for #11, you may want to reread the Nav's instruction booklet. There were instructions for the previous nav system (2006 and earlier vehicles) to allow switching between splitscreen and fullscreen maps. Having seen salesmen at my local dealership playing with the nav in a 2007 Tahoe LTZ, I witnessed the map in fullscreen view. So there has to be a way for the new ones too.

Thanks for the info. I just got my hands on a copy of a recent 2007 Tahoe dyno test. Naturally, the test results were supplied by the manufacture of the CAI, although the tests were impressive, they did prove your point. The test indicated an increase of 22 HP and 28 Lb-Ft. If you study the tiny graft, you will see that most of the extra ponies are at the top of the RPM range. Looks like it is pretty much a wash until you reach 3000 RPM, then you pick up 8 HP 3500 RPM, 10 HP 4000 RPM, 18 HP 4500 RPM, and finally 22 HP 5000 RPM. I will probably still pick one up, if I can get the right price, as it will probably help with the trail load on long hills.

I spent quite a bit of time on the phone with GM/Chevy yesterday trying to figure out how to obtain a costumer loyalty coupon to use on my recently ordered LTZ. Bottom line – “It’s not going to happen” Apparently GM/Chevy picks the recipients of its customer loyalty program at random. It does not count if you have purchased a new Chevy truck every 2 years for the past 30+ years the process is random. The customer service rep, and supervisor were both very polite and well scripted, stating that they receive many requests and comments related to this process, however they could do nothing. IMHO this sucks.

it does go to full map view....I have used it several times that way...although I prefer the exit by exit map myself...play around with it...it does go to full map!

What Tire Pressure? by jocatch

I have had my 2007 Tahoe for one week now and the only thing I noticed that may not be set right from the dealer is the air pressure in the tires. I got the 17" standard tires which are Bridgestone Duellers. According to the DIC, the air is 37 PSI in each one. The tires look like they can handle up to 44. I would like to ge a little bit better mileage and I am thinking 7 PSI below max is alot. What is everyone else using for normal driving?
P.S. The spare is a Goodyear Wangler but the others are Bridgestone. Strange?

GM recommends 32 psi .. Read the sticker/notice on the driver's door. ... All manufactors & companies are very concerned about liability! .. Especially with tires after the Ford Explorer & Firestone FIASCO! .. They are also concerned about comfort and good ride. .. I have the same combination of tires as you have and I'm using 40 psi in front and 38 in the rear and I'm very satisfied with that combination. .. I think 44 psi is to high unless you have a very heavy load or trailer tongue weight to compensate for. .. Remember to adjust air pressure to the correct psi .. ONLY on 'COLD TIRES' .. No big deal IMO on the brand for the spare tire. .. How many people do you think actually rotate the spare onto the vehicle.
