What's the rear axle ratio? Might have high gears in it for better fuel economy. 4:10 gears would make a big difference in the performance. Check the axle ratio and if it has high gears in it, it may be cheaper than $1000 to swap gears.

If you want to go from a lower number (higher gear) to a 4.10 plan on approx. $1000 for 2x4 and $2000 for 4x4 to change out the gear sets. I have the 4.10's and they are MUCH better than the 3.73's off the line but its still DOG! I wish I had paid the extra $1000 for the 6.0L
I am thinking about getting a new PCM for my 5.3L. Many appear to be happy with the programmed PCM from wait4meperformance dot com Very inexpensive for the results some are posting.

That sounds simpler than what I thought about doing, cutting the end on a normal wiper arm and welding it on the new Tahoe arm.
Are you talking about the silver/gray pin that holds the attachment thingy to the blade?
I was thinking that after I get a new set, trying to press the pin out and attaching it to a set of normal blades. There are several blades out now that have the same configuration as the Valeo but with standard attachment.
My parts guy will sell them to me for $20 ea. Not bad for a $5 blade.

Loss of Radio, Navigation and Onstar Service

I have a 2007 Tahoe LTZ with 9,700 miles. The following incident occurred on Friday - no explanation from dealer was available. I had been driving about 10 minutes, using radio and Nav system. I stopped at a local store for about 10 minutes. Upon restarting, the radio, navigation system and onstar service was inoperable. I stopped the vehicle and restarted thinking it would all come back. No luck. Even the turn signal "click" was silent. The heat and air controls worked as well as all the gauges on the dash. I drove directly to the Chevy dealer and explained the problem. Made an appointment for the next day to have them "Check it out". Upon starting my truck in the dealer lot all of the things that stopped working suddenly started OK. Did anyone have a similar situation happen to them? Dealer tested for "trouble code" but the restart clear memory. What was the resolution? Thx

Yes the silver p[in, however it is actually a rivet. I drilled one, and I have it a part. It is too wide for the standard ANCO blade. I have some more work to do, I will get back to you.

YES, I have the same problem all the time. GM is going to replace the BCM (Body Control Mod.) Every modual in the Tahoe gets a serial wake up/handshake signal from the BCM every time you start the truck. You should have set several codes that GM can read when you take your truck in for service. If you had shut the Tahoe off, and opened the driver door prior to trying to trying to re-start, the retained battery relay would have reset and everything would have been working again. I found that just re-starting will not reset the mod's you have to open the driver door or wait for it to time out (20 min). Good luck at your dealer, mine thought I was nuts the first several trips in. Then, like you I drove in to the dealers garage with several things not working, however I refused to turn the Tahoe off until they witnessed the issue first hand. hope that helps, George.

I had this exact thing happen to me when my Tahoe was relatively new. No nav., radio, etc. and the thing that was weird was no turn signal click, just like you. I stopped and turned it off and then back on and then all was ok. It was a red flag to me, but have had no other problems since. My radio does make a weird "zap" sound, as if it had been struck by lightning, every now and them. It is so loud that I'm afraid that the speakers or something will blow out (or it will scare me and cause an accident!). I don't know why it does this and haven't taken it to the dealer for it. My, my, seems there are so many problems with these. I've had great luck so far, but I'm glad I have the extended warranty. So much can go wrong!!

My did it once. No sounds at all. Got a good feel for just how quiet it is. The turn signal as do all sounds goes thru speakers. No codes were set.

Thx for the restart tip. I'll be sure to open the door prior to a restart. I also have experienced what appears to be a "Zap" at times when I start the vehicle. Almost like someone suggested it sounds like being hit by an electrical charge. The dealer indicated that I should not turn off the vehicle if it happens again and bring straight to the shop to see if they can identify any codes. The dealer even offered to get me a rental car(at their expense)from Hertz if I wanted to leave the vehicle overnight and have them diagnose the problem the next day.
