You might consider the 3M clear film.

Just a couple of days ago, I sent my Denali in for the recall #07007 repair. My service department not only reprogrammed the BCM, the RCDLR and RKE Modules, they also gave my Denali a good wash and wax job. All were done within 90 minutes. I couldn't be happier with my Village Pontiac's services.

The '07 Tahoe wipers really Stink! by saratogalake

We're getting freezing rain/snow here.. I just had to make a 4 mile drive and both windsheild wipers froze solid making them useless...I had to stop 4 times and break the ice free so I could see for a while... I'd like to meet the engineer who designed them and give him a piece of my mind..He must live in Florida because i know they could not have tested them in a real winter climate.. They are an outright disaster... And.. The company with the patent says they have no plans to make a winter wiper!!! I've always purchased winter wipers for all my cars and they really work great.. There covered in rubber which prevents the ice from forming..If I would have known this before hand I would never have purchased this vehicle.. What good is having a 4WD vehicle with worthless wipers???

2007 Tahoe Horsepower or lack of... by justgotsum

Just bought a new '07 LTZ model (5.3). Great body style, interior and ride...but no power . In fact, it seems to be very flat on the bottom unless you stomp on it, then of course your gas mileage goes in the toilet. I'm toying with chipping it, new exhaust and air cleaner. It's going to run about $1000. Wondering if it's worth it. Any comments or experience? Thanks

Backing out of my driveway this morning, I tore the rubber piece mounted below the front bumper off.. I really have to know.. Who came up with the need for this piece and did they ever expect it to survive winter?? I give up.

I agree, worst wiper blade (in snow/ice) I have ever used. ¼ in of snow, they turn in to a broom handle. Then if you try to lean out the drivers window and snap them, they fall off. As you know I also contacted Valeo and got the same story, no relief in site. If you look at their Web site, you can see that they went through several variations of the mount, until they found this one. The engineer that I spoke to stated that they have tested these in all weather conditions !#$%^ and that they use same mount and blade on high end imports, yea that nobody drives in the snow. GM turned a work horse into a soccer moms ride. I also would have never purchased the 07 if I had the foresight to investigate the wiper blades. How that I have vented, here is what I have tried. (1) tried a set of 05 wiper arms, they did not work, wrong angle, etc. (2) tried to simply remove the rubber edge to see if I could replace it with silicone – no luck. (next) I am going to purchase a spare set of OEM blades at $30 each, drill out the rivet, and attach it to a set of quality winter blades. I have taken the measurements, and it looks like it will work if the rivet will come out with out damaging the mount. If it works I will post it here, I live 30 minuets south of you in Guilderland and experience similar weather/driving conditions. George

What's the rear axle ratio? Might have high gears in it for better fuel economy. 4:10 gears would make a big difference in the performance. Check the axle ratio and if it has high gears in it, it may be cheaper than $1000 to swap gears.

If you want to go from a lower number (higher gear) to a 4.10 plan on approx. $1000 for 2x4 and $2000 for 4x4 to change out the gear sets. I have the 4.10's and they are MUCH better than the 3.73's off the line but its still DOG! I wish I had paid the extra $1000 for the 6.0L

I am thinking about getting a new PCM for my 5.3L. Many appear to be happy with the programmed PCM from wait4meperformance dot com Very inexpensive for the results some are posting.

That sounds simpler than what I thought about doing, cutting the end on a normal wiper arm and welding it on the new Tahoe arm.

Are you talking about the silver/gray pin that holds the attachment thingy to the blade?

I was thinking that after I get a new set, trying to press the pin out and attaching it to a set of normal blades. There are several blades out now that have the same configuration as the Valeo but with standard attachment.

My parts guy will sell them to me for $20 ea. Not bad for a $5 blade.
